Check deposit feature is terrible

The app works well except for the check deposit feature. 9 times out of 10 it rejects the check (even bank checks from other institutions).

Tells me there’s a update in order to keep it safe and secure I click on update now it brings me to the App Store and nothing happens yet I still can’t access my account. What a joke.
