TASK PLANNER Work out how to fly the hard ones. Elbow, Angle, Land Run and 3D shapes — donuts and wedding cakes — are solved from your own measured winds in the air, or from the forecast on the ground, and drawn as the track you would actually fly rather than an idealised shape. Your climb and descent rates are paid for out of the scoring window, so the plan accounts for the time it takes to change layers. Drag any plan around the map to line it up with the real scoring area, and show several at once to see how they overlap and whether one can be flown into the next. DECLARED GOALS For PDG, PDT and FON tasks, SkyBound suggests where to declare — ranked by whether the rest of your sheet stays flyable, not merely by what is legal. See a heat map of workable ground, the areas your goal may not go, and the ordering window each task has to be flown in. Tap a suggestion for the altitude plan that gets you there. COMPETITION MAPS Import an event's map sheet straight from your phone and use it as an overlay on the flight map, including fully offline once downloaded. CREW AND TEAM NOTIFICATIONS Your crew are notified the moment you start a flight. So are the pilots in any flight group you selected for it, so a team knows when one of them goes up. OFFLINE FLIGHT LOG Your last 10 flights — including the one you just landed — open with no signal at all, so you can review a flight from the field before you have a bar of service. WINDS A wind profile card and starburst on the pre-flight map, an hour picker so you can plan against a specific forecast hour, and SkyCast now pulls NOAA RAP for current winds. Wind times read in your takeoff's local timezone.
