B.S. Pricing

BS pricing is deceptive. You have to buy credits, which you have to top up; however, because their purchase plan is always a decimal cents amount more than the package you can buy, you have to take the next step up. to purchase the lesser tier. Waste of money—bad business, fellas.

Genuinely Good

I think people are unrealistically hard on this app, yes it does have the same information as Google Earth, but if what Google Earth provides is what you need then this isn’t your use case. If people think moving a satellite in space to a location of your choosing getting near real time high res images for a few thousand is expensive then you’re not the intended customer. I’ve seen the images this produces, top notch.

Complete Ripoff

Asking 3k for image insane 😂

Great analytical selection

It’s great that in addition to the data and imagery there is also an analytic marketplace. SkyFi makes it all very easy!

So glad to hear you're loving the app!

Awesome and affordable gift idea for treasure land.

I purchased an affordable digital image of a family farm from a pre-existing commercial data set from SkiFi using the app in the “Explore” tab. I ordered a 5 square KM section at 50 cm resolution. The best part for me was the rich and vibrant colors and seeing a familiar land from a new perspective. The image was sharp and arrived on time (within 24 hours).

I am using the image as a gift to family to celebrate a family history that took place on that land. What a great way to share memories and make new ones with family.

Thank you SkiFi.

Task A Satellite From Your Phone

This is the coolest app.

You can literally tell a satellite where to take an image and it will send you your image back a day or two later.

Thanks so much for this great feedback! So glad you're loving the app!

Useless

The app shows up the size of a phone in the middle of the screen on the iPad. It claims to have existing data but there is no way to see what it is unless you pay $30 or more. The “preview” is highly pixelated and useless. Seems sketchy.

Response from developer

Thank you for this feedback! The app is best used on an iPhone, and we will be sure to submit this to our product team for review. The low resolution preview is intended to show you where clouds may be present in the image, but the delivered image will be in the resolution selected at purchase. Don't hesitate to reach out to support@skyfi.com with any questions!

Does not support Voice Control accessibility feature on iPad

Good for iPhone, bad for iPad.

Great, slick app on desktop or iPhone, but forces a portrait view on iPad, and their website won’t let you access the app if you’re on iPad. I’d like to be able to use either their website, or a landscape view on this app to boost this to a 4/5.

Request failed 401 error

I like the concept of the app The pictures are clear I went to Antarctica to look for ancient ruins pyramid and stuff etc I saw a suspicious location potentially a craft tried to hit the save button I guess and it wouldn’t let me save it request failed 401 error

Honestly that’s primarily what I would use this for scanning landscape for potential ruins or discoveries certain sections of Antarctica we’re not HD

Thanks so much for this feedback. The issue with saving the AOI in Antarctica is resolved but please reach out to support@skyfi.com if you have any questions!

Phenomenally intuitive

This app is amazing - both in terms of the capabilities it provides and the ease of use it offers. I was able to pull up an order for satellite imagery in less than a minute for the exact location/conditions/type of image I was interested in. What the order was, how much it would cost, and how long it would take to get the imagery to me were clear and easy to understand. What used to happen exclusively in large government facilities now fits in your pocket, and you can download it for free. That’s incredible.

Are the prices a joke?

Saw this advertised on Facebook! Thought I’d take a look, basically it’s Google Earth with a price tag! 3500usd for a picture I can screen grab from google. And as for all the rubbish about being able to choose different dates etc, you can do that on google for free. Actually wasted 3 minutes of my life downloading this and a further 2 minutes writing this !

Seems easy enough to use

I knew the images would be paid, but I didn’t realize they would cost a minimum of $200 and go as high as several thousand.

The app is easy to use and shows all the pricing up front which is nice. Keep in mind the minimum coverage area is 25km^2 which is a bit wider than I was hoping for.

The sample image of Texas is a bit underwhelming for the price.

Overpriced nothing

So just a basic satellite image which is pretty much google maps, however if you want a new one then booosh…..here’s where you pay, and it ain’t cheap. Pretty much a waste of time

Super user friendly!

The app is incredibly easy to use and I was impressed by the number of options made available! The fact that you can order a portion of an existing image and select the date, cloudiness, etc of the image all for $20 is pretty revolutionary.

What a joke

$3501 for a image what a joke

Expensive

$3500 plus for an image, I would expect a level of detail showing the colour of my underwear for that kind of money

Suspicious

Someone else made the same comment in more detail. After you install the app and go to run it for the first time, it says must download update, which is bypassing the iOS App Store update process.

Now it could be innocuous as I have several apps that update their information periodically.
But these apps say they’re updating certain information, and this app says it’s an update.

red flag security risk, should be removed from app store

red flag security risk, should be immediately removed from apple app store. Software behaves as malware.

This app is non-compliant with apple developer policies, and possibly in violation of apple TOS and developer licenses.

Apple should review this app immediately.

Downloaded app. Opened app. Immediately, the app opens to a window with “new version of skyfi app is available” with an Update button.

However, i installed the latest version, so no update should be needed. Additionally, i closed the app, and checked for updates for the app in the App Store, and no updates were pending or available. The app can NOT be run without this suspicious “update”.

Any app that “updates” its app without the update being available in the app store is acting as malware. And not updating from the well established Apple Terms of Service and Apple developer agreements appears to be a direct TOS and developer agreement violation.

Apple should remove the app from its App Store IMMEDIATELY, pending review.

NO ONE should use the app until the download and update processes are Apple compliant.
