Stopped working

Worked great now it says needs update but there is no update and it won’t open. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and same outcome, needs update

Low value functionality

This app has potential to be usable for more than just LAANC authorizations. Who would want to fly back and forth or do an automated mission without triggering the camera? The waypoint functions just are simply waypoints. If the app had just a bit more control over camera settings and triggering images, this would be a powerful mapping app. But just the way it is now, it is unusable without manually triggering, something which nobody wants to do for automated flights. I teach drone technology in a community college, and we map with Pix4D capture since it actually triggers the camera. Honestly it would be an easy fix for this app which would make it way more usable. For now, my class will not be learning about this app.

Clunky and troublesome

I’m just trying to submit a simple LAANC request but this app requires so many hoops to jump through to create a flight plan within the app, name everything, there are too
many steps and I keep getting error messages. Additionally the input methods are just kind of clunky and not real user friendly. Aloft/air control is still the better app by far.

We recommend using SkyGrid Flight Control in conjunction with a cellular data connection (like 4G). A strong network connection is recommended to maintain a consistent experience. Cannot sign up and no response from support

This has been going on a while. App seems totally broken. Numerous requests to support re application errors have simply gone unanswered. I cannot even create an account. Strange for a company that continues to advertise (YouTube).

Can’t even set up an account

I inputted all the correct information, it gave me a green checkmarks to indicate everything was complete, then I click create account and it gives me an error message every time. Not a good first impression.

Error 422 during account creation

Cannot create SkyGrid account after download from App Store. Returns Error 422 after data fields are populated.

App not ready

Recommend soliciting input from pilots who use autonomous flight apps to help with the language in the app. Typically when setting up a flight plan the ‘object’ your flying around is stationary and doesn’t have a ‘speed’. Additionally, the app closes during the planning process, and the maps used when zoomed in are extremely blurry. Map layer ‘wind speed & direction’ is a color code that shades the entire map making the flight area hard to see. Having this map layer appear as an icon on the screen instead of the entire map would be helpful. Food for thought, if pilots don’t feel that an app will safely execute an autonomous flight plan they are highly unlikely to use the app. Removing the app until future revisions are implemented.

Awesome App with Great Features

This is a excellent app that provides a ton of value. Easy flight planning with a great UI. My P107’s really like the Object ID feature along with the simplicity of use. Operationally sound and well-designed. No issues with running it on our hardware (iPad Pro 2Gen). Utilized it in the field for a multitude of tasks ranging from livestock management to construction progress tracking. Great feedback from my on-staff P107’s and will look to make it our drone piloting go-to solution.

App not ready for prime time yet

I’ve used several autonomous flight apps and this one seems to need more beta testing before being rolled out. First, the app crashes constantly. I am using an iPad 5th Gen with the current IOS. I have yet to create a flight plan as the app crashes when zooming in on the map and when trying to create a path. The menu is clunky and the map is jerky. I’ve used Mavic Maven for a couple of years now with no issues. I’m not sending up my drone using this app in fear of the app crashing during flight with the same result for my drone. The app is promising but doesn’t deliver yet.

Useful app - free features that others take money for

I’m a part 107 pilot since a few years and have used a number of other apps in the market. This is the best functionality free of cost. Really like the flight planning capability.

stupid app

Stupid app, I got it hoping for convenient FAA authorization fillings, but it turned out some weird flight planner with terrible map quality, no function I was looking for. Useless. Uninstalled.

First time drone operator

I blew through two full batteries learning to fly my Mavic Pro! It’s so cool I can predefine a path to where I want to fly the drone then resume manual flight when I get there. Had a blast chasing birds, watching the world through my on screen camera. The object detection seems really good. Feature request! I’d like to send notifications to my phone/ iPad when objects are detected.

Love the all in one approach

I’ve used a bunch of different apps for flight execution and don’t like constantly switching between the planner and the flight control app. This is the first app I’ve seen that combines those functions so I’m not having to move back and forth while ,y drone is in flight. I like the visual design too. So far so good.

Crashes

App crashes. Then have to log in again with all credentials. No fingerprint option. So far Kittyhawk much better.

Sick UI!1

The UI in this app is so slick. I love the ability to create plans like area sweep and free flight, makes planning flights so much easier!
