About

A sky beyond the Home Screen. Skyline turns a Home Screen widget into a window. Beyond it lies a landscape, and its sky keeps changing colour all day long. ■ The colour is the sky, right now The sky is not a picture. The sun's position is computed from the date and the place, and the sky is drawn in the colour of that moment. Indigo before dawn, white morning, blue noon, orange dusk, then night. Whenever you look, the same hour is passing outside. ■ Anywhere in the world Pick a city and the sky is drawn in that city's local time. If it is night where you are but daytime there, the widget stays in daylight. In Reykjavík in summer, 10 p.m. is still bright. Search covers the whole world, and once chosen, no connection is needed. ■ A widget that moves At night, stars flicker — rarely, irregularly. Choose rain and drops run down the glass. You notice the movement when you happen to glance at the Home Screen; it is that restrained. ■ Twelve views Sea, Sky, Sunlight, Wind, Waves, City, Peaks, Forest, Meadow, Desert, Fog, Rain. Six frame colours, and two panes side by side make one wide window. StandBy is supported. ■ Today's Sky Sunrise, solar noon and sunset for your chosen place, the length of the day, the difference from tomorrow, where today ranks in the year, and how many days to the next solstice. Move the time and the whole screen becomes that hour's sky. A reminder shortly before sunset can be set. ■ Everything happens on device Not one photograph is used. Sky, sun and stars are all computed and drawn. The widget makes no network requests. There are no ads. Four views are free, along with worldwide place selection, Today's Sky, notifications and StandBy. A one-time in-app purchase unlocks the remaining eight views, six frame colours and the star-twinkle setting.
