Slab - Plate Reverb

Slab is a physically modelled steel plate reverb. Not a room pretending to be a plate. Not an impulse response. A sheet of steel the size of a door - 25,000 resonant modes, all worked out at once, under everything you play. It's a lot of metal for 99¢. LET IT RING Hold the SWELL foot and the reverb keeps building. Every note adds more energy to the plate. Keep playing and the sound gets bigger, then bigger, then completely out of hand. There is no reason to stop. So don't. DAMP IT Real plate reverbs have a damper. Slab does too. Hit DAMP and a felt pad drops onto the steel, choking the vibration almost instantly. It's not a fake decay control - the plate stops because something stopped it. PICK YOUR PICKUPS • STEREO - twin pickups on opposite sides of the plate for a wide, moving image. • MONO - one pickup, like the original single-output designs. Same plate, different perspective. AND THE KNIFE SWITCH Throw it and the plate runs through a measured amp stage - warm, dark and genuinely dirty when you dig in. THE CONTROLS • DECAY - how long the steel keeps moving (0.3-10 s). • TONE - the damper's resting position, from lifted-and-bright to pressed-and-dark. • PREDELAY - the gap before the plate speaks. • MIX - dry stays at unity; the plate rises around it.
