Not a great port
Game itself is awesome, I wouldn't recommend this IOS port. Card selection can be error prone, most recent issue, the scoreboards for the daily climb haven't worked for months. Disappointing, the game itself is really good though.
Broken Leaderboards
Good game. Getting buggy like no leaderboards loading. That was part of the game you advertised.

Love STS1
Love this game, been an avid daily climber for quite a while. I guess they no longer host the server or whatever that allows the leaderboard to exist because it has been broken for quite a while. Just so happened to coincide with the release of the sequel, a game that bastardizes a lot of the balance this game achieved.

Best Mobile Game
Best mobile game hands down, infinitely replayable, and doesn’t require an internet connection making it great for on the go and even flying.
Can’t see cards
Move the cards up so you can read the text without having to click on them. When you try to click the cards half of the time they don’t even move up enough to read them anyway. Just move the text to the top of the card and the artwork to the bottom. FOR THE LOVE LET US BE ABLE TO READ THE CARDS!!!

Controls are good
I was reluctant to buy this as many of the reviews complain that the controls make it very unpleasant to play. I haven't had any issue at all - I think the controls are completely fine.
One thing to be aware of is that the font is quite small (if you have played Balatro, it's similar). I think this wouldn't really be an issue on an iPad though. I don't really think there's any fix for this though, as I'm basically playing a computer game on my phone, so it makes sense!

Amazing, UI needs work
Amazing game. I have played many hours on PC. Mobile port needs some work. Text is small and can be hard to read on phone, even with bigger text enabled. Cards can be finicky, many buttons too small. I am playing on iPhone 17.

60 Fps and smoother interaction plz
Hundreds of hours
Endlessly entertaining card game and has become a full cozy game for me. Provides hundreds of hours of entertainment and can even play on flights without internet. Can’t wait for slay the spire 2 to come to the App Store. 11/10.
Confirmation on Card Selection
Too many times I have to quit and reopen the app because the game doesn’t ask for confirmation on a card I accidentally selected.
Can’t read anything
You need reading glasses or a magnifying glass to be able to see what’s on the cards in this game. I wish I would’ve known that before I wasted $10. Also I subscribed to Apple Arcade and didn’t realize there was a version of this that’s actually better that was free, Apple didn’t bother telling me this before they took my $10.

Legendary
There were very few times where I found myself bored playing this game. the endless replayability, the depth of the strategy, and the incredibly engaging gameplay kept me there for hours on end. Definitely worth the price tag.
Bad controls limit gameplay
Unfortunately the controls for looking at what a card can do are broken and can accidentally make you play a card.
Additionally, sometimes you cannot even see what a card does unless you drag it up.
This makes gameplay frustrating.
My opinion: do not buy in its current state. Wait until it gets fixed (if that does happen)

Favorite game of all time/ any platform
I’ve played many games in my life on many consoles- never thought I’d like this kind of game and now I’m considering rehab for slay the spire… I don’t think I have the gall to try the sequel
Amazing Game
this game is amazing and the depth and complexity of it, combined with the deck you build, and the intricate dynamics between them and the relics and so many different aspects of this game are amazing. I’ve probably spent hundreds of hours playing this game so probably best value of any game I’ve ever bought. My one issue is that lately for some reason unbeknownst to me. The leaderboard functionality has been completely broken. One of my favorite things about this game is that me and a few friends of mine were competitive about the various tract metrics like fastest completion and highest score and so on. For some reason as of a few weeks ago, that functionality is completely gone. The leaderboard just says that I need to slay the spire. I’ve slayed the spire many many times and I used to have my scores and I could see how I stood up against my buddies and for some reason, it’s just broken now. Game devs please fix it. As of now, I can’t even see my own top scorers or my own stats with regard to how well I have done in the past, and that is very frustrating.

Fix it
Fun game, but as many other have said, working with the cards is super frustrating. They display half off the bottom of the screen. To see the details of one you can tap it, which brings it forward; but even that still randomly displays half off the screen. Pulling a card up manually with your finger works; but then you risk playing that card. Bad port.
