Update

Would be nice if you updates this for iOS11 so it is usable again

No Support

I've used this app for a few years over many iOS updates and 4 iPhones. I love it. How it records before I make a sound is pretty neat, however, it shuts off at any point in the middle of the night. I have contacted these developers several times, and have yet to get a response. I have to dock what would otherwise be a rave review 2 stars for this. Excelltech, answer your emails.

What Analyzer?

It doesn't analyze anything other than recording the sound you make while sleeping. That's not sleep analyzer. If you are looking for an app that actually analyze your sleep pattern, you need look for better app than this one. Not worth the price.

Still Best by test

I have tried several other recorder apps, and this one is the most reliable and easiest to use. It is basically a voice-activated recorder with time stamp so you know when the recordings took place. In the morning, you get one file with all the noises in it. You can play all of them sequentially, one at a time or non-stop, or use the scroll bar to jump through the night to a certain time. It always shows you when the noise took place. The buttons are not too small, the graphics are clean and easy to read. I don't use the categories -- I just listen to what happened overnight andI don't usually export the files, although you can. Helpful not just for apnea sufferers, but for people who talk in their sleep, or wonder when external disturbances occurred, or wake up with great ideas in the middle of the night -- just say it when you think of it. I like the app, I use it every night, and I highly recommend it, especially over others that try to do the same thing. And when there was a problem with a recent update, I e-mailed the developer, received a prompt and pleasant reply, and a fix was posted the app store within 10 days.

It's useless

This app is useless the microphone does not function when you start the sleep analyzer. So no recordings are made. A total rip off.

Like it very much.

It worked perfectly first try. First night it gave me all the data about my snoring etc. that I could have wanted. Will continue to use it. Good job!

Works great when it works

This app is great. Lately though it only records half of the time even though I set it and it shows it is recording- it doesn't. Then recently it didn't record the first 2 hours.
It has helped a lot using it to see just how many distractions I have to my sleep during the night. For example: I found I snore which I didn't know- I am small and so my Dr never tested me for sleep apnea- because if this app I got tested and was found to have it. I also learned I probably wake up a lot because of my peta who are up partying during the night.
I haven't figured out how to classify each noise yet and so every noise it set to "unanalyzed".

Last update hurt this apps functionality

Since the last update was released, I have received only two types of results when I set it to record my sleep at night:
1. It crashes as soon as I hit the Stop button without saving a recording file for that sleep session.
2. It saves a recording of the sleep session, but only the first few minutes are recorded. No other noises made during the night are picked up regardless of how low I set the decibel level.

Analyser

It's okay at recording but u have to download a program on to mac to save the previous nights recording. And that does not work on as mac says downloaded file is damaged. So this works but saving recordings to mac. Forget it.

Disappointing

This app only allows you to tag disruptions with "Sneeze" and "Cough"! How about sleep apnea, snoring, talking, external noises? It should at least allow you to add your own categories. This seems a pretty half hearted attempt at an app that should not sell for more than $1.

An excellent app in the hands of a careful user

This really is an excellent app. I'm a medical doctor and suffer from sleep apnoea.
Take the time to set the threshold correctly. I've found about 70 dB ideal for my situation.
After having a dental appliance made for me for my apnoea (the appliance moves the lower jaw forward to stop the soft palate occluding) I was able to adjust the appliance little by little each evening until I stopped snoring and having apnoeic events, completely.
Once you've recognized you have occlusive sleep apnoea, I suggest you do something about it. Carefully logging events etc is not going to alter the management. Just get it treated!

More functionality please!

I agree with others - great app but with a few updates this would be an AMAZING app!
I hope Excelltech take these points as constructive criticism...
- the peak green bar doesn't always reflect the maximum sound at that point so it takes a bit of trial and error to find suitable threshold;
- i normally display a clock at night but this app doesn't run in background so would be good if a clock feature was added or alternatively make the app run in background;
- Can't do a lot once you have analysed data. Would be good if u can manage each clip individually, delete unwanted segments and be able to play clips by their category;
Looking forward to an update.
PS I'm also looking for an app that can monitor body trembling in sleep, would be willing to pay for accessory. Maybe Excelltech can come up with something??

My favorite app

I'm very impressed with this app! I played around with the decibel threshold and found 54 to work very well. This is with my phone on the nightstand about a foot from my head. In just one night I have discovered that my dog is the one with a sleep disorder! 50 interruptions with most of them being from him. No wonder I feel tired in the morning. It also picked up on me talking in my sleep several times...didn't know I do that. Definitely money well spent on this one.

Awesome

Give it a try! Since it only records when it hears noise I've uses it to secretly record other events. ;-)

Great App!

Works exactly as advertised. Includes an accurate sound dB meter - better than other sound meter apps. Was able to isolate roof crack noises in the night that are waking us up. Background normal is 33 dB with threshold set at 51.25 dB.

Não gostei.

Não recomendo a aquisição.
Lamento ter gastado dois dólares nesse app.

No multitasking!

Only thing that prevented five stars: no multitasking. If you use a third party alarm, forget about it. As soon as you switch to it, Sleep Analyzer stops. This needs to be fix in the next update!

Does exactly as advertised

Very cool app.

Useless

Recorded 37 mb on first use but most of it is white noise. Useless app.

Does NOT Work!

Yesterday I purchased this useless program. I played with it for a while to learn it and even though the user interface is terrible and hard to understand, the program itself seemed to work.
So, Last night I put it to work when I went to sleep. However, when I work up about 7 hours later, the program wasn't running anymore. I restarted it and discovered in the "Analyze" button that it had indeed recorded me during a portion of the night and there were 5405 "Disruptions"! I'm looking at it now and it shows me a "Total Duration" of 5:31 hours. Apparently it crashed sometime before I woke up. I tried to playback the disruptions but no matter how I play with the user interface, the playback indicator moves but I could not hear a thing. It's as if the speaker is turned off completely (which I made sure is not the case). Also, whenever I try to "Backup Data to Computer", the app crashes.
