About

3D Slicer is the 3D printing workflow that starts on your phone. You found a model. Your 3D printer is ready. Your desktop slicer is on the Mac. The annoying part is everything in between: AirDropping a random STL, opening it at the wrong size, flipping Z-up, and only then discovering it doesn’t sit on the bed. This app is that missing step. It is not a replacement for your desktop slicer or printer companion app. It is the companion you use on iPhone and iPad to import, place, and hand off a clean file. WHAT YOU DO * Import STL, 3MF, OBJ, GLB and other mesh files from Files or iCloud * Browse a free model library (CC0 and public-domain prints) and drop one on the plate * Move, rotate, scale, and mirror on a live 3D viewport sized for common 3D printer beds * Set layer height, infill, speed, supports, and brim as a preview * Export a 3MF (or STL) and AirDrop / share it into your preferred desktop slicer * Slice and send to your 3D printer in your desktop slicer using compatible printer profiles THE REAL SOLUTION Your printer companion app talks to the printer. Your desktop slicer does the real slice, supports, and send. 3D Slicer sits in the gap: prepare the model where you actually browse files — on iPhone and iPad — then give your slicer a file it can open. Use it when you want to: * Check orientation before you walk to the computer * Turn a phone download into a ready-to-slice 3MF * Keep a small library of models ready to export * Preview layers so you know what your slicer will process NOT THIS APP * It does not replace your desktop slicer * It does not replace your printer companion app * It does not directly send jobs to the printer or control connected hardware * Layer preview is an estimate — your desktop slicer is the source of truth for time, filament, and G-code Prepare on the phone . Export the 3MF . Slice in your desktop slicer . Print on your 3D printer. 3D Slicer is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any 3D printer manufacturer.
