About

The marina threatens to sell your boat over a disputed slip fee. A berth is a maritime tenancy, not a home rental - and the Boaters-Lien-Law rules are their own. Build the record before the sale. Sliphold is a contemporaneous record-keeping and reference tool for U.S. boat owners and liveaboards who rent a long-running slip or berth from a private marina. When the relationship goes wrong - a sudden fee increase, a cut utility, a blocked gate, a retaliatory notice, or the threat of a Boaters-Lien-Law sale of the vessel - the boat owner is the only one keeping the record. The marina-management software marinas run for billing and operations does not document the owner's side. Sliphold does. A marina slip is a commercial, maritime tenancy with its own lien-foreclosure rules - it is not a home rental, and the protections of residential housing law do not apply. Sliphold keeps its language and structure on that maritime footing throughout. WHAT YOU DOCUMENT - The berth tenancy: marina, slip reference, fee and fee period, start date, state, liveaboard status. - Slip-fee history: each charge - rate, increase, late fee - with a disputed flag. - Breach records: a dated account of what the marina did - access, utilities, damage, retaliation, safety - with optional photos. - Communications: every back-and-forth with the marina. - Lien-defense timeline: lien threats, notices received, scheduled-sale dates, contests, resolutions. FREE - One berth tenancy with full record-keeping. - Fee, breach, and communication records up to a set evidence cap. - The full State Maritime & Boaters-Lien-Law Reference, read-only. - App Lock (Face ID) - free for everyone. PRO - Marina Lien Defense Builder - one timeline of lien threats, notices, scheduled-sale dates, and how you contested them. - Berth tenancy evidence PDF - fee history, breaches, communications, and the lien-defense timeline, ready for a maritime lawyer or small claims. - Unlimited berth tenancies and records - each with its own slip-fee history, communication log, and breach records. - Photos on breach records - attach a shot of a blocked gate, cut utility, or dock damage to a dated entry. - Stay ahead of deadlines - add a notice or scheduled-sale date to your Calendar, get a reminder, and see the countdown on a Home Screen widget. HOW THE REFERENCE WORKS The State Maritime & Boaters-Lien-Law Reference is a rule-based guide drawn from publicly available state regulations as of the App Store release date. It is general information, not legal advice, and not specific to your berth. It does not interpret your situation or predict whether a lien sale is lawful. Consult a maritime lawyer. DESIGNED FOR IPHONE Sliphold is designed exclusively for iPhone. YOUR DATA, ON YOUR IPHONE - Open the app and start. No account to make. - Your records and any attached photos live on this iPhone, and are included in standard iOS Backups (iCloud Backup or Finder) when enabled. - The app connects to no cloud, runs no analytics, and talks to no marina, registry, or government body. - If you delete Sliphold without an available iOS Backup, your records and photos are removed permanently - there is no in-app recovery. ABOUT SLIPHOLD Sliphold is an independent, personal record-keeping and reference tool for boat owners. It is not affiliated with any marina, harbor authority, marina-management platform, boating association, or government body, and does not provide legal advice.
