Nice, Simple, Compact
The app covers all of the major small portion methods and provides straightforward recipes. No up sell or marketing. Allowing calculation of larger servings would be nice but these are supposedly individual serving recipes from coffee professionals, so no real argument. I’d score a 5 if I wasn’t such a hardass.

Love it - Just needs an Ipad Version
Incredible app, been using it for over a year, I would just love to have an Ipad version for when I use it for tasting/brewing demos as an example of using ratios & extraction. Overall, the best coffee app I have found.
Everything you need
If you love a good cup of coffee but aren’t sure where to start, ditch your keurig and get on slowbar’s level! They’ll give you all you need to make a cup of coffee that would make Starbucks stock go down immediately.
Great for beginners, good for 3rd wave @ home
I love coffee. The app provides recipes, methods and a built in timer to suggest the best extraction times for the brewing method enable anyone with a coffee grinder and water kettle that allows you to heat to specific temperatures the ability to use many of the more common methods of brewing 3rd wave coffee that brings out the flavors in their coffee.
The simplicity of the app enables the beginning user to take ground coffee, the purchase of a brewing method, and then have and enjoy a very good cup of coffee. Also, you can’t beat the price.
My major improvements would be to allow the user to have the app open to their preferred brewing method. For example, I have all methods available on the app except the clever, but it is not clear how to or if it possible to change the app-opening brewing method. Second, I hope the developer will encourage the slow brewer to experiment with different coffees (e.g., vary the coffee’s origin, the grind of coffee (coarse to fine, etc.), note how long ago it was roasted and/or ground), vary the extraction length in time, the ratio of coffee to water, the brewing water quality and temperature, and so forth are all variables to taste.
These are minor suggestions. If you want to experiment with making your own slow brew, this app will get you started in the process of making great coffee. It’s price-value ratio make it a great app. I’ve suggested it to dozens of coffee drinkers, and nearly all appreciate its simplicity, the recipes and directions to great coffee.

Thumbs Down
This app is incredibly inflexible and, frankly, Slow Bar has a very weird interface. In my opinion, a waste of time for coffee lovers.
