Excellent app
I use this app for my patients who need visual modeling. If the do well with this, I go to Lingraphica and get them a dedicated communication device to try at no cost. (Really). Their devices are great for communication and for therapy.
Stopped working....
Was fine with previous version, new one doesnβt even get to the list of exercises...
Response from developer

Needs Update!
This is a useful app for teaching oral motor movements. It also provides a solid base for a home exercise program; however, it glitches EVERY TIME it is opened and then shuts itself down after one exercise. Please update the software for this great app!
Progress after a week!
Simple collection of videos in a cover flow interface which takes you about 15 minutes to work through.
As a stroke survivor Iβve been using this for only a week and I can see the progress in my speech.
Only complaint is that it is a bit sluggish and probably needs to be tightened up for iOS 12.

Amazing App
Absolutely love this app! I'm currently a speech student and it has helped me with practicing oral motor exercises. Thank you!
Great APP for speech therapy
This is an excellent APP for oral motor exercises. It would be even better if the was a way to score the clients progress. During the next update please add a scoring chart of some kind. Thanks!
Valuable
After my husband had a stroke in 2008, Medicare purchased a computer for him to use for communication and speech therapy. They paid about $8,500.
The hardware was a small Apple laptop, without any of the Apple software. The software was entirely by Lingraphica. The same software as this app, and the other Lingraphica apps being offered here for free.
These apps are a comprehensive collection of speech related software. Some of the apps have a large selection of common phrases, which you can select, to have the computer speak the phrase for you. It allows you to easily communicate just about anything you would need to navigate through your day.
The most valuable portions for my husband have been the therapy related parts. In some of the apps, you can watch short video clips of a woman's mouth, as she clearly speaks words and phrases. This makes it easy to mimic her mouth movements, to learn the correct way to pronounce the words.
In this app, you see short video clips of a woman's mouth, as she does various exercises to strengthen the facial muscles necessary for speech. There is a voiceover which explains each exercise. You can do each one as often as you like, over and over if necessary.
These are the same exercises my husband was doing under the guidance of the speech therapists at a top rated rehabilitation hospital right after his stroke. When the insurance stopped paying for rehab, we were able to continue his speech therapy on our own with Lingraphica.
I highly recommend this software to anyone with speech impairment. It makes a great accompaniment to traditional speech therapy, but it is an absolute must have for anyone without insurance provided therapy. You can't put a price on the sound of your loved one's voice.

FREEZES, YES!
How many people have to complain about this before it gets fixed? I'm number 4 here, but I'm sure there are many more out there. Great app when it works, waste of time when freezes, which is all the time.
Freezes
The video freezes frequently and I have to reset it a lot. Great app though!
Freezes
The videos freeze a lot. The audio will keep going but the screen is frozen in time. Please fix!
Love but fix it plz!?
I love love love this app. It's amazing. But it won't open after I gave it a break for summer vacation! Please update or fix!!!
Restrictions
The apps would benefit by being able to disable the ability to delete videos. I have one student who invariably goes right to 'info' and begins hitting the red negative.
Quite good
We use this app with an ASD child who has poor articulation - shows features of verbal dyspraxia. I think it's quite good. He needs to learn how to shape his mouth to make better quality sounds, this app helps show mouth shapes. He is quite echolalic, and counts along with the voice over. It would be useful to be able to turn the count off so he can focus on the mouth shape and hold the shape for the duration.

not as helpful as I'd like
takes too long to load for most of my clients. the videos are also too short - even just a brief bit of "nothing" intro and outro would give less "blink and you've missed it" feel.
Oral Motor Exercises
Really difficult to begin with but definately worth working through
Needs editing
The person talking is not making the correct sounds. She adds "u" (short u sound). This sound should be dropped. "R" sound should not say "er". Great idea. Please correct.
Good but...
My mother suffered a massive stroke ad has both aphasia and apraxia. We bought her an iPad for her birthday and its working well for her, but we really wish that these apps could be universal as the larger screen of the iPad is more convenient for her to use
SmallTalk Oral Motor
Again, an amazing app that helps us all, but especially those individuals needing the service. Thank you so much. We will have students next year that will need this app and money for the school district and the family is an issue! Thank you so much, and please continue to develop these tools.
Excelent
This is an excelent app for people with all kinds of disorders that require therapy exercises of the lips, tongue, cheeks, jaw and soft palate! Well done!
