The App does work
I was able to create an account just fine in 2023. I think the issue may be that you have to tap REGISTER, then you enter the email and password you want. Do not do that on the login screen and then hit register. Just FYI. Was able to get to the page for my state to get a fishing license just fine.

This app has not been touched or updated in at-least 2 years. It doesn’t let you register for an account nor log in. Should stop selling the poles with the app attached to them unless it works!

App is horrible! Don’t buy if you have an iPhone XR or newer
I have an iPhone XR and I’ve had it for years. So I don’t understand why the app doesn’t work, I guess the smart connect app has become out dated to newer iOS platforms. So if you have an iPhone and haven’t updated it in 5 years you should be fine. First it will connect and then just outta no where disconnects and then wont pair with my phone again, I went to the site and they have no updates whatsoever says to do a hard reset underneath the settings of the app but I didn’t see it. The app is very basic, so that’s great if your a child because that seems like what this whole thing is geared towards a simple GUI interface. The concept was good, the reel itself actually seems decent quality although I have never used it. I live in south Florida and have been a hardcore fisherman all my life and me and my son volunteer with the church taking kids out fishing who usually wouldn’t get an opportunity to. I woulda liked to give the reels out as prizes to biggest fish caught mainly because you can setup five reels in the app to alert. But you can’t edit the name. Just feel one, feel two….etc. why can’t I name reel one “my rod” or “juniors rod” or what if I wanted to use it trolling. What good does that do? Like I said actually looks like decent hardware. I wasn’t expecting penn quality but it doesn’t matter I can’t give you a honest review because I’ve never used it. Just been sitting there for 8 months because this company won’t update their app software. I was telling some of the dads in our fishing group about it and before I found out how bad the app was they went and bought them too and had the same problems and issues, both were luckily able to return their reels unfortunately it was too late for me. I’m just so frustrated I’ve tried every few months figuring they would update the software but as I said it’s been 8 months and Im done with it SINCE THE COMPANY CANT DO THE SIMPLE TASK OF KEEPING THEIR APP UPDATED THEY MUST NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS. I would not recommend buying this reel if your planning on using the alarm feature just buy one of those cheaper one that snap onto your rod from amazon. Maybe I can sell it for $10 I won’t be using it im sick of trying to figure it out and look for updates it should be done by smart connect or tackobox or whoever manufactures it. Very disappointing

This reel does not connect but to an Android it does. Just another disappointment!

Such an innovative product and app. The reel and app are easy to connect and simple to use. I have used this reel and app in my boat and on the bank and it works great in both settings. My family camps out a lot and this reel is perfect for sitting around the campfire and alerting you when the SmartConnect system detects a bite. Thanks for a great product and an app that works flawlessly!

What a great product
I picked up my product at Walmart and downloaded the app. So easy to use and understand. I like that it lets me manage the bite alert. I bought a second unit for my son and it lets me monitor his pole at the same time as mine on my phone. When we started getting bites it was easy to tell who’s pole was getting the action. I was getting my son a snack when the alert went off on my phone. Notification popped up that my son’s pole had a bite. He managed to catch a nice 5 pound catfish. This app is extremely intuitive and useful.

Fantastic technology
I am a novice fisherman and before this reel I was the one that made the fish fat. But now, With the smart reel makes me a better fisherman. Thank you for your invention for all type of fishermen.

Saw it advertised on Facebook. Bought from the companys’ website. Great gift for my hubby, he says it works perfectly!
