Great App for Head Tracking
I’ve been using this app for about 3 years, so I guess I’m overdue to leave a review since it definitely deserves one. I primarily use this to emulate the TrackIR 5 in Arma 3 and it’s been the game changer I was looking for when flying aircraft. I previously used the wired EdTracker for lower latency, but dealing with the cable was a hassle, and mounting it was a big problem since I use earbuds. So, I gave up on head tracking for a couple of years.
I randomly came across this app on Reddit and was very surprised at how easy it was to get running. Previous face tracker apps I used were mediocre and unreliable at best. To be fair, LIDAR didn’t exist in older iPhones, but this app has been airtight and even has the fun helmet overlays which my friends get a kick out of.
Any instability I experienced was due to me needing to optimize OpenTrack on the PC, and was nothing to do with this app. So, some of the other reviewers may have forgotten to try that before posting. Also, decent lighting is necessary to allow the camera to properly track the head, so that may have also been their issue. IMO this app deserves 5 stars. I didn’t expect it to still be receiving QoL updates in 2025.

Better than the neural tracker on open track
At first I got it since I didn’t have a camera, but after switching to a camera and using open track neural tracker I realised that it didn’t work as well since I had glasses, so I returned the camera and continued using this. It’s great!
It works with little to no setup
Would be cool if I can choose which camera on my phone to use

Using this for DCS World since 2022. works absolutely perfect - don’t feel any need to switch to any other solution
Really buggy
App is really buggy for me and the tracking is not so smooth what so ever. It’s not quite what I expected but I praise you for trying. Would I by chance be able to get a refund? I had initially encountered a couple of problems such as loosing track of my original position easily, which I wasn’t so bothered about, so I bought your product. Now I have bought it I have ran into more problems such as buggy tracking, still loosing where I am and also not working well in low light situations. If we could sort something out I would greatly appreciate something. Thank you, Konur

Direct usb connection won’t work
Windows pc tried using the usb connect function and it won’t connect and there is no way to get a hold of a developer for answers. If they had customer support this would be a 5 star app all day
Sadly does not work reliably.
Looking left about 20-30° makes the output jump to the rear looking upwards. Up/down is also very limited, only about 20°. Unusable for me.

Be using it for about a year I should’ve brought it a long time ago because it’s worth more money now will definitely pay for it now best about I use it for dcs world and mfs2020
Bug on the headtrack.exe
Thé headtrack exe won’t start anymore after I reinstall my windows, did it need some drivers or idk plz help

What else can you ask for? App does what it says it’s gonna do. You have to recente e it every once in awhile but there’s a big recenter button so.. like it’s literally lifting a finger. If you have an issue with this app, it’s probably your fault. :)
Super easy to set up
Had trouble at first. I tried to forward the port manually and it wouldnt connect. Once i deleted the botched firewall settings I restarted the program. windows firewall permissions popped up, clicked allow, and everything work smoothly.
Feature request
Works really well so far. Early days but tracking seems smooth and consistent.
Feature request would be to be able to set a delay on re-centering. My setup requires me to reach forward to hit the button on the phone. With a delay I would have time to hit the button and then sit back in to my properly centered position before the re-center takes place. Thanks.

It works well, but
The app works great, that being a problem is out of the question. But. The subscription is crazy expensive. I get that you have to make money somehow but I’d prefer a cheaper (1/10th of the price) monthly subscription. Or just getting rid of the 1 min cooldown after use would also be great (but still annoying)
