Has potential but major flaws

I want to like this app, but it’s SO frustrating. I uploaded all my receipts from the month and then went to generate a report, but you have to create a report FIRST and then put in your receipts that you want on the report. Seems completely counterintuitive. It is NOT user friendly - you have to click around all over the place even to get back to your receipts if you’ve not put them into a specific report. Developers seem to be inexperienced. I’m on the hunt for an app that actually works for professionals.

Best Free Expense Report App

Honestly, it’s pretty great. I was gonna mark it down for scammy ads but it’s free. I like it better than Expensify our old expense report app.

Almost perfect

The only problem is you can’t use the app to register your incomes and see a comparación between months expenses, must of the apps really don’t have the photo option and this one does have it but unfortunately is not like for personal finances if you don’t have income option

Free option is getting worse with every update

The basic free version used to be fantastic if you just needed an easy way to compile receipts into one pdf. With every update they continue to degrade the free option, make it less user friendly, and try to push you into a subscription. I would have considered subscribing if I needed more features, but now I’ll switch to a different app completely rather than pay them a dime. Such a sleazy business strategy to make the free version worse and worse rather than improve the paid version to get more subscribers.

Convenient

This was very helpful until my phone was stolen. I reinstalled the app on the new phone but it doesn’t show any of my receipts. Now everything is lost

Garbage update

I'm deleting the app. After 4 years of using it, I accidentally updated the app and it's completely useless now and they deleted all my pictures of receipts I had for the past two months.

Don't waste money. !!!

I haven’t found a better app in this one always recommended to friends, coworkers and family who have to track receipts.

Easy, useful, free

Perfect for logging physical receipts for my small biz. I don’t need to pay for it as the basic features are enough for me. If you have a lot of receipts, you may want to pay for the upgraded features.

Unreliable scanning

I have the paid up version of the app and find that it almost always misses out my receipts when I scan them. It means having to re-scan them virtually every time. I’ve emailed the customer care and they don’t respond so it seems they aren’t interested in helping improve the app.

Scan is paid only

Was exciting to try this out. Realized you’d have to manually put in every single information, or pay $99/yr for OCR extraction🙄. Better just put your data in excel rather than downloading the app and allow them track your activity and resell it 😊

Worst app, no support, invalid email

I tried to contact smart receipts via apps, email. But there was no response, the email i sent bounced back and said invalid email
It said 3 days free trials but it charged me straight away
The app is hard to use
I cant even put right address for kms

This looks like it’d be the perfect product but…

I can’t get information about the product, the differences in the plans, etc. I can see several subscription offers. What’s the difference? Can’t find that info.

Tried finding out more on my Mac, since that’s an easier interface for sending email. Entered a support ticket in their interface, which I can access without logging in. I should say tried to enter as after I typed up the questions I was told I was blocked.

So, with so many unknowns, I cancelled the free trial. Again, it looks like the product I want. But so many questions, and so few answers. I don’t mind paying for a product if it meets my needs. But can’t tell if it does or doesn’t.

Thanks for the feedback! We are aware of the issue with the ticket system outside our app, but given the amount of spam and cyber attack attempts out there, we limit access to it at this time. The only difference between the Free and Pro Versions is that Free users receive basic receipt entry and report generation. Pro Users get the whole package, including account syncing and a web version of the app. We are available directly via support@smartreceipts.app if you require further assistance.
