About

Scoreboard turns your iPhone, iPad, or Mac into a flexible, easy-to-control scoreboard for games, practices, tournaments, and debate rounds. Track scores, clocks, periods, shot clocks, possession, fouls, cards, substitutions, rosters, chess clocks, hockey penalty timers, and debate prep time from one clean control board. Show a full-screen public scoreboard on an external display, through AirPlay, or on one or more paired Remote Display devices while keeping the controls private on the operator device. Built-in presets include Simple, Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Hockey, Chess, Debate, and Custom Sport modes. Debate supports Public Forum, Lincoln-Douglas, Policy, and custom round formats. Apple TV can be used in two ways. You can AirPlay from the operator device to Apple TV without installing the Apple TV app, because AirPlay is treated like an external display. Or you can install Scoreboard on Apple TV and use it as a Remote Display. Apple TV Remote Display is display-only: it does not run the operator board, edit game setup, manage files, or control the score. Use an iPhone, iPad, or Mac to run the game, then pair Apple TV to show the live public scoreboard. Whether you are running a gym scoreboard, timing a debate round, managing a scrimmage, or keeping a clean public display for spectators, Scoreboard keeps the game organized and visible.

What's New in Smart Scoreboard

1.5

September 21, 2026

Feature Added - Added a hideable Merged View toolbar with external-display status, full-screen local display, Display Control, sound, theme, Companion, settings, and close controls; buttons wrap on narrow screens. Issue Fixed - Improved small-screen settings across all panes with viewport-constrained scrolling, stacked editors, compact picker menus, wrapping file/log toolbars, and separate Remote Display details and actions. - Replaced opaque root-view type chains with deferred, type-erased view boundaries to address archive compilation errors while retaining stack-overflow safeguards. - Reserved space for the Debate speaking-side arrow so long segment labels shrink without overlapping it in Merged View and public scoreboards. - Split settings panes and section content into separate SwiftUI view evaluations to address device stack-overflow crashes, including Remote Display, Debate, and Custom settings. - Simplified Remote Display connection pickers to use explicit options with localized labels in operator settings and on receivers. - Updated compatibility with iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, addressing Xcode 27 concurrency warnings in Live Activities, keyboard shortcuts, Remote Display, and supporting utilities. - Added the external-display scene registration required by iOS 27 so connected displays can show the public scoreboard independently of the operator screen, while retaining support for earlier iOS versions. - Moved legacy file migration off the main thread to keep the interface responsive during upgrades. - Fixed an incomplete launch-background image asset definition and aligned the Live Activity extension version with the app. - Added localization regression checks for translated format arguments, debate labels, and custom text containing percent signs, while preserving the existing localization crash safeguards.
