Overhyped
Right out of the box these cuffs were very difficult to connect. I got errors once they were connected and when they tried to inflate they failed. Pressing the emergency stop button did absolutely nothing. For 900.00 this product should work flawlessly and the construction of these makes me wonder if they will last a year. A user opens the box gets started and immediately has issues. Not a good first impression and a huge let down after spending so much money. I am considering returning these and going to another brand. I was excited to get these now it’s womp womp. Do better guys.

Works incredibly well
I noticed that this is the brand my Physical Therapist was using so I bought a pair for myself. Nice to have peace of mind that it’s able to adjust to what my body needs as far as the amount of tightness.
After 3 weeks, my left knee is getting less and less achy because my left quad has improved so much over that short period of time. I’m also noticing a very quick progression in strength and size there and when I use the arm bands to do push-ups, both in my arms and in my chest.
This has revolutionized my martial arts training by helping me get past the weak foundation from my knee and has helped majorly with kata and normal everyday techniques.
Because this tech was developed originally in regards to older people, I’ve been able to recommend it to my aging parents to help with some of their muscular problems, to help give them a firmer foundation for everyday life.
Great for people who don’t have the time to get to a gym or don’t have access to heavier weights.
There are lots of pointers and tools on the SmartTools website for exercises and safety.

Updated firmware bricked my cuffs
Updated one cuff, plugged in near the others. Worked for a few days now they won’t turn on. Reached out to customer service let’s see what they say - fyi to those thinking about updating
New app version is unusable.
Update is completely unusable. Takes forever to load fails to load client lists gifts for more update issues without there being a new firmware available needs to be fixed ASAP
Great quality cuffs tech need work
Would be 5star easy if app worked. Likes to disconnect while saving sets which I learned to not even do that. Just pay attn to timer and keep track of sets that way. It wouldn’t disconnect during your session. Now it likes to disconnect after saving sets which and then cuff would change color. So now you have to go though whole process again. So tech needs work but overall cuff is made of good quality

Sketchy Bluetooth connection
Honestly wanted to love these. Loved the intention of the app. But it just doesn’t work. Do not spend the money. Find a brand that gets this whole package right. Cuff. Bluetooth. App. Too many other options to settle for this.
Disconnect
Compared to how much these cost, the app is a joke and poorly made. The biggest issue is that if it disconnects from your cuffs, it resets your whole workout times. It’s such a simple fix that they seem to refuse to do. I would not recommend the 4.0 cuffs until they tighten their app up a lot more.

I love Smartcuffs. I purchased the 4.0 because no other generation was available for purchase at that time. This app is terrible. The cuffs constantly lose connection with the app. This results in numerous problems including failure to calibrate (with no alternate option to enter a manual LOP) and interruption of workouts. I wish I could have purchased the 3.0 and take the app out of the equation. I’m not going to pay for another set of cuffs. This is a fantastic company, but the app needs to get with it.

Awful Battery
This app is absolutely terrible and it is now required to use the 4.0 cuffs. Can never get the cuffs to stay connected and when I do, the battery is drained to zero before I even finish the workout. Customer service is non-existent.

Difficulty establishing LOP
If it was possible to give zero star review, I would do that. I recently purchased the SmartCuffs 4.0 and have found it impossible to establish an LOP due to the app timing out- I have tried all troubleshooting techniques , deleting, and re-adding the app - I’ve sent the device failure data to the supplier multiple times and have not found a resolution to this issue issue - rendering the $500 purchase useless. Really frustrating considering these cuffs are expensive and now I’ve wasted time and money trying to use 🙁

Not perfect, but working towards it.
Have had the 4.0 cuffs close to a year now. Have had some issues with the product but Nick was quick to offer support and replacements where necessary. There are bugs for sure, but on balance they work, and work well. In the case there is trouble, Nick will support you properly. The software is always getting better, with several firmware updates along the way.
Been using it for rehab and to stay in shape even though I can’t load up as I used to while younger. Vital for my workouts.

Problem fixed, no longer a reason to complain.
I like the product, it does what it needs to do. Bit buggy to use but otherwise fine. Just hoping there will not be any more issues with the servers. They respond very fast to emails, so thats cool.

2nd day using and app will not let me log on. This is pretty hard to believe for the price of the cuffs.

Works fine, but servers being down is ridiculous.
Hoping it’s some kind of update, but if the servers are going to be down frequently I see no reason as to why you would purchase this product.

Won’t even calibrate / inflate / nothing
One works sometimes and the other one doesn’t even ever calibrate. Save your money and buy a similar product from a different brand

Will the disconnect issues ever be fixed?
Ive really enjoyed the comfort and design improvements from the 3.0 model. The app isn't perfect by any means and can be frustrating to click through, normally taking longer to start exercise then the 3.0 version, even with saved client exercise data.
The most glaring issue with this product are the frequent disconnects. Losing connection during exercise is not only frustrating, but a safety concern. The only way to stop exercise once bluetooth connection is lost is the emergency stop, which erases all workout history and requires you to restart the process from the beginning. Ive rarely had a full workout without running into these issues.
The simplicity of the 3.0 model makes me regret ever upgrading to this 4.0 model. Until these issues are fixed, the product isn’t worth the high price

Incredible tool to have at home!
I found out about the SmartCuffs from the lovely Shante @themovementmaestro and quickly knew I needed this addition to my home gym. I used a different BFR tool at physical therapy post knee and hip surgeries and loved it, so I knew having this at my fingertips for daily/weekly use would really benefit my rehab process and strength building phases. This tool is very versatile and top quality! This tool is for you if you are wanting help with rehab post surgery/injury or have no injuries & are just wanting to build muscle, strength, or endurance!

Frequent disconnects make this product unusable, highly dissapointed
I purchased two pairs of SmartCuffs after using BFR cuffs working with my physical therapist, which really has been helping me recover from chronic injuries. After a 6 week lead time and $600 later I was excited to finally get to try them at home. Only to be MASSIVELY disappointed that these time and time again disconnect from BlueTooth every 1 minute (yes the devices are charged, and yes I’m within Bluetooth range), making them completely useless. After each disconnect you need to redo the entire calibration procedure, so you spend twice as much time navigating menus as you do working out. The product otherwise seems great, but shame on whatever quality assurance engineer or manager pushed this through. An incredibly frustrating experience.
