This app will not work with later versions of iOS
If your iMettle has lost its config and you try to use this app it will frustrate you by telling you that you need to connect to the kettle before you can proceed. Even though you ARE connected to it!!!
The only way I found to reconfigure my kettle after upgrading my router was to use the app on an old iPad I had. It gave all sorts of errors on my iPhone running iOS 13.1.2

It does what it says on the box (use too)
It use to do “ what it says on the box” but not anymore I’ve had a first generation for quite a few years kettle is still working well with exception to connecting to Wi-fi since changing phone and Wi-fi provides just cannot connect. been trying for over a week

Couldn’t connect my iKettle
Who the hell knows their router name and password? None of my other connected appliances were this hard to connect.

Kettle is of average quality... certainly not worth the expensive price tag as a kettle... but it does have a really cool ‘book the kettle from upstairs’ feature, except...
Software is ok - when it works. Once set up, all works fine - for an hour or two. Then the kettle looses its connection and to get it working again seems to involve resetting the kettle and setting up for the beginning again.
I have never managed to consistently get it to work... so, overall a really expensive average kettle that is too heavy. Sadly a waste of money....

Broken
Can't set up. Says I need an internet connection even when connected.
Never set the alarm!!!
I set an alarm to wake me up and so I could switch the kettle on, however the alarm goes off but can't connect to switch the ikettle on from upstairs, so I turned the alarm off. But it still goes off every morning, Ive deleted the app and then reinstalled but the alarm still goes off even though it is switched off in the settings, I registered my ikettle with a different email but still the alarm goes off everyday. IT'S SO ANNOYING!

The future!
Haha the future has arrived in my house, being able to turn the kettle on from anywhere in the house may seem lazy, but it is fantastic and saves an extra journey to the kettle, I've already saved enough of my time, to write this review.

Just needs Apple Watch and HomeKit support now, I'd love to be able to ask Siri to pop the kettle on.

The app could be lots better
The connection is fine for a while. We have had to reconnect as new several times.
Notifications are very annoying and intrusive. We don't need to be told to refill a kettle. It is always left filled. When you select ignore it should turn them off. We are not going to upgrade or add a coffee maker to add to the annoyance. The kettle is used manually a lot now!

What's not to like!
Tea, anytime, touch of a button! Superb! Wake up in bed, set the kettle to boil, ready by the time you're up or whenever you like...what's not to like here!

Only issue is if your network goes down doesn't always pick up when it comes back up so you have to sync it again.

I bought one of these because I love gadgets. When I first got and set it, although this took several attempts,it was great. The power went down in my home and now it won't connect at all. Have tried all sorts from uninstalling the software and reinstalling. Restarting the router and even contacting customer support even they couldn't help. I bought one of these kettle for my son. He can't connect either and it's driving us mad. They are too expensive to be just sitting n the worktop. You could be thinking why don't she just turn it on manually, but that's not why I bought it. So! at the moment not very happy. Any ideas.....anyone. Rant over

Useful little app.
This is an easy to install, and easy to use app! Especially when you sleep 2 flights of stairs away from the kettle and its 6.30am in the morning!!

This is the best Christmas present ever. I absolutely love my tea and have at least 10 cups a day. I have recently had an accident and am unable to walk without crutches so for me to be able to turn the kettle on and then only have to get up when it's boiled is so wonderful. As all other reviews there could be improvements, app would be better with different signals for on and off, also it it a good looking kettle but needs a water measure somewhere other than having to open the lid, it is also very loud and red light not really needed. I do absolutely love this and would recommend to anyone who has a disability and loves a cuppa. 😀
