Simple, easy to use, accurate

The title says it all. The simulations match what other simulation software and apps compute, so it’s as accurate as one could expect. Thanks for developing a great tool for the masses!

The version on the App Store says 2.31, but the app says it’s 2.30. Can someone tell if I’ve got the latest version and it’s just a bug?

Great app just one gripe with it

I love this app and is fairly accurate to what I’ve experienced with my launches. However I don’t have an altimeter to measure actual heights so the Cd value is likely off a bit. My only gripe with the app is the lack of certain rocket motors, namely the f15’s from estes that I use regularly. I’ve put in a f26 as a placeholder but would like to see a preprogrammed f15 or an option to put in your own engine parameters

Smart app

Very impressed with the physics programmed into this tool. Gave it a 4 out of 5 because an F-15 Estes engine was not listed.

Good rocket app

Nice app. It has a nice selection of engines and manufactures. Let's you program several variables into the launch scenario. While not overly deep it is nice for a rough guess of how high your rocket go given some variables

Great app for rocketeers

This app is very helpful when you want to get a rough idea of how your rocket will perform with a variety of motors and launch conditions. My only complaint is that it has a ton of motors pre- programmed, but falls short in the number of common rocket kits that are manufactured. If it had a bigger selection of rocket kits/manufacturers, it would get the final start from me and be a 5-star app.

Very Good Portable Rocket Predictions

This is a great program for quickly getting an idea of what a given rocket weight/diameter/cd and motor combination will yield, regarding apogee altitude, speeds, etc.

I can do single engines, as well as clustered engines. It does not do multi-stage, however ( I sure wish it would!). Also, there is no descent/parachute calculation.

Once your rocket has flown, you can enter the altitude and engine it flew to/with, and it will calculate and new Cd. If you then save this Cd, it will be used in all further calculations for other motors you might try.

This application is great for standing in the rocket vendor's trailer on launch day and determining the flight characteristics of the available motors the vendor has for sale.

It's not as full-featured as RockSim, but you probably aren't going to be designing a rocket on launch day, are you?

4 Stars as is, but would be 5 Stars with staging predictions.

Great software for learning rocketry.

A very useful tool! Very intuitive to use. I really like being able to set the motor preferences.

Sometimes works

This app freezes, crashes, and just doesn't work most of the time, once you start the simulation it freezes

Great app for launch field use.

Remember pRASP for the Palm OS? This app is going to replace that, as soon as Cluster support is added (the author is working on it now). I compared a few sims with RASP, and it provides nearly the same numbers, which is exactly what you'd expect. I've already used this in the field to determine delay adjustment for G & H flights, worked perfect. All the motors are in the app, so this runs just fine on an iPod touch.

Awesome!

Huge database of motors, especially the RMS kits which are what I primarily use. Very easy to use: you can create new entries for your rockets knowing a few basic specs of the kit, then choose your motor and off you go.

One thing to note is the importance of the drag coefficient (Cd). The other user commented that the reported altitude was lower than expected for his high-power rocket but okay for low power. Larger, high power rockets have a much lower Cd (averaging
around 0.35) than smaller, low power rockets (around 0.75). If the Cd was not lowered, that would wrongly result in a lower altitude.

Very useful app, it'd be fun to have a big red "Launch!" button to press before results are revealed, though not necessarily a deal breaker.
