About

Smile & Tap instantly hides the faces in your photos, so you can share them without revealing anyone you'd rather keep private. A triple tap on the back of your iPhone opens your latest photo with every face already covered by a smiley. Reveal the ones you want with a single tap, keep the others protected, then share the copy. The original never changes. HOW IT WORKS • Tap the back of your iPhone three times, or pick a photo. • Your iPhone finds the faces and masks them automatically. To be safe, everything is masked by default. • Tap to reveal whoever you want, then share. WHAT MATTERS • 12 playful masks: smileys and animals, plus your own custom masks. • On-device face detection, powered by your iPhone's chip. • GPS location removed from the shared copy. • Your original always stays intact: a new image is created. 100% PRIVATE, 100% ON-DEVICE • No photo is ever sent to the Internet. • No account, no server. • No ads, no trackers. Your memories stay yours. FREE, THEN UNLIMITED Protect 10 photos for free. For unlimited use, a single purchase is all it takes, no subscription. Whether it's your kids, a face in the background, or someone who'd rather stay private, Smile & Tap is the simplest, fastest way to share your photos without showing faces.

What's New in Smile & Tap

1.1.0

August 6, 2026

New: hide a face with blur or pixelation • Blur and Pixelate, two new free masks. Instead of covering the face with a sticker, they rework the photo itself, until no recognisable detail is left. • A quicker start. Nothing to set up before you begin: mask your first photo right away, and the triple tap on the back of your iPhone can wait until you actually want it. • A reminder at the right moment. Once you've protected your first photo, the home screen offers the shortcut, just as its point becomes obvious. • A clearer tutorial. It now shows where to get Apple's Shortcuts app if it isn't on your iPhone.
