What I was looking for!
I was remembering the old game Nimble Quest that got discontinued and this is just like it! Like snake, but with little hero’s that shoot.
A worse Nimble Quest with unblockable ads.
It isn't horrible but Nimble Quest was better. For one thing this doesn't always detect my swipes (which almost certainly causes death). And I don't see how one could complete the quest to get 12 heros.
The biggest thing is that there is no way to avoid watching pop-up ads. It seems like all the games today and entertainment in general are all designed to squeeze out every drop of money and energy from their customers. It's a disturbing trend.
