FAQ

What does SnakeSnap do?

SnakeSnap allows users to identify snakes by taking or uploading a photo. The app provides a fast and accurate response with the snake's identity, diet, habitat, and a brief description of its characteristics, confirmed by a combination of AI and human experts.

How accurate is the snake identification?

The app uses a combination of technology and human intelligence to confirm all snake submissions, prioritizing accuracy. While AI is used, it's acknowledged that automation isn't 100% accurate every time due to the vast number of snake species and variables involved.

Is SnakeSnap free to use?

Educational sections of the app are free. However, unlimited snake ID submissions require a premium service subscription, available in 1-month, 3-month, or 1-year plans.

What kind of educational content is available?

The app offers educational sections for free. With a paid subscription, users receive monthly educational content about snakes based on their geographic location, along with other valuable information. Links to educational content on their website are also accessible from the app.

Who is the ID Team?

The ID Team consists of a diverse group of experts including Authors, Biologists, Toxicologists, Herpetologists, Students, Field Herpers, and Snake Hobbyists. Users can ask them any question and receive a personal response.
