User reviews

One Sports Team App for everything.

I am a beta user of SnapStats who has been testing versions of the app almost from the outset (currently on the 82nd version as I write this review). I have used this for my son’s club water polo team and will be using it for his high school team in the coming weeks. It is a team communication platform for players and parents, schedule and directions for games, live streaming and stat tracking platform with individual player profile pages with all of their highlight reels, and also has a no pressure fundraising arm.

I currently have over 15 sports apps on my phone for my kids’ various sports - often needing multiple apps for one team to manage all of the various aspects. SnapStats puts everything in one app including:

Team messaging system for team chats with the players and coach; another one for parents to communicate with one another; a system for the coach to communicate to either players or coaches or all of the above.

Live streaming (via YouTube account tie in) is enabled through the app with live stat tracking. There is an option for AI announcing (though I prefer to announce games myself). The stat tracking during games are tied to the players who created the stat and that stat is time stamped to the video and backed up 7 seconds, which means at the conclusion of a game, I can click on a player on the roster and have every replay of every play specific to that player which is great for sending off to family who want to see the highlights, or for high schoolers considering recruitment, it makes cutting highlight reels take minutes instead of hours.

As we get ready to manage the high school season I am really looking forward to the fundraising function associated with the app. Our team will launch a fundraising campaign for a flat fee of $99 with no additional percentage taken. We have some families who prefer to donate and not fundraise and others who like to find support from their friends and family and SnapStats makes it easy for both groups - much easier than other platforms that require everyone to register and provide lots of email addresses.

Believe it or not, there are still more features to unpack on top of these, but I think this gives a good idea of what its capabilities are. Now SnapStats is a subscription product at a per team cost, and the subscription price is discounted if you have multiple teams that want to use SnapStats. As a standalone subscription the cost per player is much cheaper than sports apps that require each user have an individual subscription, but with the power of the discounts, working with club directors and athletic directors to use SnapStats across all their teams locks in the most savings and reduces the per player cost for a team to incredibly low monthly costs.

On top of all of these features, I have to say what the stat tracking has done for my son’s personal and team development. Over the course of the season, patterns begin to emerge which can be analyzed and addressed. My son watches more film than he has ever watched before and his shooting percentage and defensive stats have increased partially through trends he has found from watching. In a world where club sports costs are rising with parent expectations, SnapStats provides objective measurements to speak to a player’s unique development giving a framework for discussion with coaches, and can help form a tailored development plan.
