Good But Could Be Better

It’s the Tinder version of music discovery & building playlists. I like the concept but one of the things I wish is it has the option to select the music platform to discover music on. (Ie: Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, Napster or Amazon Music) The reason being for an Artist especially an Independent Artist other platforms have a higher pay rate for each song compared to Spotify. As I write this review Spotify has the lowest pay rate of $3-$5 per 1,000 streams whereas Apple Music is double at $6-$10 per 1,000 streams. Tidal has the highest rate of $12-$15 per 1,000 streams. This helps the artist of which platform to promote to their fans first & for the die hard fans who like to support their favorite artists. Also not everyone who uses the app use Spotify but wish to create a playlist on another platform they regularity use. I personally use Apple Music over other platforms.
I would also like to see a refresh artist option in the app. It takes awhile like 2 or more weeks for a favorite artist new music appear on the app instead of the day or even 2 days of their new single or album release to preview.
Add these options it’ll be a 5 star app.

This app is extremely well made. I love it the smart radio is the best. It’s literally tinder but instead girls it’s banger bands you’ve never even heard of. Thank you developers for this great app that will help my music journey.

For people who love to explore music

Snobs started as a passion project between a few of us who were frustrated with algorithmic music discovery giving us stale recommendations.

We wanted a simple and fun way to actively explore artists without searching through multiple blogs and websites.

Snobs lets you swipe through artists to build your own collection, then jump into shuffle play or a personalized radio based on what you actually like.

We are trying to build a cleaner, more intentional way to explore music on your own terms.

As a small team we are working on this piece by piece, listening to feedback, and improving it as we go.

If you love finding new artists or diving into subgenres, I hope Snobs helps make that process feel exciting again.

Great app

I love this app... The idea is genius! I often find myself wanting to discover new artists rather than new songs. Finding new artists through snobs feels so much more authentic! This app allows for talent to be recognized…not to mention the ease that comes with swiping left or right to find new music. Love it!!!

Disappointed

This is a very disappointing app every time I go on it it’s kick me out should’ve been zero star since this app is useless and disappointing

Super buggy

I can use the app for maybe 5 minutes before it crashes and won’t let me re open it

Insanely buggy

I would really like the app if it actually ran smoothly, but the amount of times I have to clear and refresh the app to even like one artist is laughable. It gets to the point where you literally can not use the app.

Could be so great!!

Needs so much improvement and I really hope it comes. Could be such a great app if it wasn’t bugging out literally every minute and I have to clear out the app to get it to ‘work’. Anxiously waiting for that, very much needed, update!

Amazing idea

I love the idea of the app but there are some flaws. When I was swiping I found some bands i never heard of, and when I was listening the music would skip way too fast. I feel like there should be a feature where you can change the song, and if you want it to be early, mid, or present when it comes to the discography.

when it comes to the screen itself, the pop ups are annoying, you have to click though 3 before you can get to the next band

The swiping (yes/no) is a great idea. But it needs to be a bit smoother when transitioning.

Other than that I haven’t had issues with it. Keep it up

Lots of potential…

I think this app is great… when it decides to work. You see I downloaded this app because I found an ad for it scrolling on instagram and downloaded it because I’m looking for diversity. Turns out if you use it too often it will break and you won’t be able to use it. But from when I was able to use it, I enjoyed it. Just needs a heap of bug fixes, UI enhancement, and (optional) a wider range of artists/bands.

Cool idea, terribly executed

I love the idea of discovering artist, but the app is incredibly buggy. It is actually unusable. I couldn't imagine why the developers thought it was a good idea to add a paywall at this stage. Their monetization idea limits the free use of the app, which is not how you do things if you want to make good money from an app. Look at Fortnite and take notes. People play Fortnite for FREE, but PAY for the luxuries. Maybe instead of getting more swipes, add a feature that can export playlists of songs that are catered towards your liking to your preferred music app. That way, people can swipe to their hearts content, AND the app can make some money. As of right now, this app had my attention for the concept, but was deleted due to it's execution. Unfortunate.

i can imagine this app becoming super cool, but honestly for the time being its rough around the edges.

It auto skips a lot of songs

Idk what paywall people are talking about but it keeps skipping a bunch of songs I can’t tell if I like the musician or not

Underdeveloped

This app definitely seems to still be under construction since there isn’t much to it yet. It lets you choose what artists you like and creates a liked list, but that’s about it. You can’t search, as there is a predetermined list of genres and groups within them. A lot of the genres are over generalized and are missing better descriptions. The app is going in a cool direction, but it needs a little more variety to its options. The set up is neat and simple. I will return in the future after more work is done.

A Phenomenal Way to Kill Your Userbase

You’re kidding. You’re actually kidding. You have to PAY to simply discover new artists, which one could easily and alternatively use other free websites to do instead? WHY ON EARTH, would ANYONE with more brain power than a two year old EVER pay for an app like this. It is downright ridiculous, and honestly insulting to the user. These guys need to rethink their strategy because the mere idea of locking this behind a paywall sets an extremely scary precedent for the future of media consumption. What a waste.
