About

Forty inches of snow is a great year at one mountain and a disappointment at another. Totals alone tell you nothing. SnowGrade grades every ski resort in the United States and Canada against roughly 35 years of its own snowfall history, so you know whether this winter is actually good at the places you care about. Every resort gets a letter grade, A+ through F, updated every morning. An A means one of the best seasons in that mountain's own record. A C means a typical year. We never compare mountains by inches, because inches are not comparable. A grade is. WHAT YOU GET • 591 graded resorts, refreshed daily all season • A plain-language verdict for each mountain: "34% above a normal season, better than 91% of its last 35 winters" • Powder alerts when a storm is coming for a mountain you follow • Grade-change alerts when one of your resorts moves a letter • A 7-day snow forecast, the one place we show real amounts • 35 years of grade history for every resort • Compare this season to the year you visited. Was it really as good as you remember? • A trip planner that shows how any week of the season has historically snowed at any resort • A map of every mountain, colored by grade • Honest leaderboards: best grades, most above normal, incoming powder • A home screen widget with your mountain's current grade PRIVACY, PLAINLY No ads, no trackers, no analytics companies. An account is optional and stores only your email, your favorite resorts, and your notification settings. You can delete it, and everything with it, from inside the app. ABOUT THE DATA Snowfall comes from the Open-Meteo weather model, sampled at each resort's mid-mountain location and measured the same way for every season since 1991. Model estimates can differ from resort marketing numbers, but because every year is measured identically, the comparisons are fair. That is what the grades are built on. SnowGrade is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any ski resort.
