Softly is an ambient-audio app built for the hours when you need the world to quiet down: sleep, focus, meditation, a long bath, or a toddlers nap. Pick a sound, press play, and set your phone face-down. The audio keeps going when the screen locks, and the iOS lock screen shows simple play/pause controls so you do not have to unlock to turn things off. Twelve categories, dozens of variants: • Rain: light drizzle, steady rain on window, heavy downpour, rain on tent, rain in forest, rain on rooftop, rain + thunder, rain + fireplace • Thunderstorm: distant, close thunder with heavy rain, rolling thunder, night thunderstorm, cabin thunderstorm • Ocean: gentle waves, crashing surf, distant ocean, ocean at night, tropical waves • Fireplace: classic, crackling in a cabin, with rain, with wind, by a snowed-in window • Coffee shop: busy morning cafe, quiet cafe, rainy day cafe, late night cafe, cafe with jazz • Forest & Stream: morning birds, deep forest, mountain stream, forest with rain, gentle creek • White / Pink / Brown noise: pure, smoothed, layered, deep • Lo-fi music: classic, jazzy, lo-fi with rain, midnight lo-fi, lo-fi piano Why Softly is different Softly keeps the app quiet: no ads, no social feed, no clutter. The home screen is a slow, full-screen pager: one sound per card, so you can swipe until something feels right. The sleep timer does not slam audio off. It fades over the last 60 seconds, so you do not wake with a start when the silence hits. Localized sound names are available in 8 languages: English, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 日本語, 한국어, Français, Español, العربية. Works offline. Download any variant to your device and listen with the cellular radio off. Optional Sign in with Apple You can listen without creating an account. Sign in with Apple is available for members who want account restoration and membership status sync. Softly does not show ads or use third-party tracking. Audio streams from our CDN; preferences and downloads live on your phone. Background audio done properly Softly uses iOS MPNowPlayingInfoCenter so the lock screen shows artwork, the sound name, a pause button, and skip controls. It also registers as a background audio app, so playback survives the Home button, a phone call, Siri interruptions, and the screen turning off. Built by the team behind softly.cc
