Hardware is awesome…the app is missing key functions
There’s been a ton of issues, logging in, etc. The biggest problem is the UX. For instance, with Rachio etc, you can at any given time see what your system is doing. With Soildrops, you have to guess. You scroll through zones and look to see if possibly anything is running, and then if it is, you have to guess what the next action is. There is no “current activity, up next” functionality which is by far the most important UX for a watering solution. You can’t just create a quick run action for multiple zones, see what’s happening and when the next zone will pop on. The scheduling functionality is meh, slightly better. Generally the Soildrops hardware is pretty brilliant, I love the sensors…so clearly the hardware team led this project, but someone needs to invest in a little Claude Design here and just wipe the app and start over. I missed the return window or I would have sent it back…but my Rachio at my old house…while ugly and terrible UI, did the basic functions better.

Can no longer login

Finally! Smart watering that works!
The app is easy to set up and customize to our plants and trees. What’s different about this is moisture sensors are placed in each zone and connect to the app. I can both run my irrigation from anywhere AND monitor the moisture level of my soil which means no longer guessing how much to water. No more overwatering or underwatering! (Big savings on the water bill too 💰since installing the Soildrops controller).
