Best app for local solar measurements
I love SOL! I had it on my iPhone for many years until it was discontinued. Now only on my iPad, and it is excellent!
Intuitive and informative data about the current status of the Sun. Best thing I like is changing the location and observing the Sun and how it appears much different. You can also time travel and see what the Sun will be like for any date past or present. Cool!

Still using this app after more than 10 years‼️
Favorite feature: set alarm for best time to go for a hike. Feature request: shadow of gnomon should indicate an approximate sundial effect. Recently learned: You need to swipe the area under the date to show more info. Double-tap that to start or start a newsfeed animation.
Great Alarms & Good UI
I like to be outside around sunrise and sunset every day so with its alarms you can offset to solar events it’s great.
Arctic Day Light
Sol Sun Clock is an invaluable resource for my life in the Arctic. Day light changes radically from winter’s twenty one hours of darkness to summer’s twenty four hours of direct sunlight. Knowing the times of sunrise and sunset is critical for photographic interests as well as knowing what light can be expected through each day of the year. The Sol Sun Clock is the most frequently used app of all apps in my iPhone. Thank you for your support and service. AL7MI (Amateur Radio Station Call Sign)

Perfect & Simple
I’ve been using this app for about 15 years, at first for timing photography during the golden hour, and now also for making sure I’m or there in the fresh air closer to midday for a healthy regulated circadian rhythm.
