Rigged

It’s rigged to spend money. Fun game, but it’s rigged. When you get to a hard level there is no way to win without watching ads or buying cheats, even when you play a PERFECT game. They give you one hard game that can’t be won without watching ads for cheats, and then 2 or 3 easy games in between so that you still keep playing. I’d rather pay a small subscription or one off fee to keep getting legit hard levels without the easy ones. I don’t like being fooled. I have made zero mistakes in a game, and still don’t win the hard levels. So therefore, it’s luck based - you have to guess the correct base to lay or row to stack on. That isn’t a strategy game. That is a luck game. And luck games can be manipulated by programming. I love this game, but it’s really annoying when you KNOW you are playing a perfect game, and can win without watching ads to get cheats.

Hi Jeddy, extra moves can be obtained by watching ads or using coins. All levels are designed to be beatable without extra moves, though some can be challenging.

Fun but not thoughtful

This game is fun, and sometimes I learn new word associations I hadn't thought of before. The more I play, though, the more I'm realizing the level design isn't very thoughtful as far as gamefulness goes. Some levels are designed so that you can barely go through the deck a single time without running out of moves and having to watch an add for 10 more moves. This design tells me the game is designed more for ad revenue than actual gaming, and the system doesn't want to reward players for being careful and knowledgeable (and lucky) enough to be minimal with the number of moves they make. Other levels are designed so that you can go through the deck one and a quarter times before running out of moves. Sometimes the associations are weird or incorrect, and categories start to get repetitive after a while such as religion (but there's enough variation that it's not boring yet). The restart mechanic continues to be annoying. You have to tap about five buttons in order to restart a game (your initial tap on the menu, your tap on the restart button, your tap on the confirm restart button, your tap on the yes I'm sure I want to restart button, and then your tap on the final you have reset your game button). Then there's an ad after all of those taps! I don't mind the ad but coming on the heels of all those unnecessary taps is annoying). Sometimes if you didn't close the game properly, you have to watch an ad when you first tap start a game, which is also a bit off-putting.

Hi Sai, thanks for the thoughtful feedback and for playing. To investigate the restart flow, color confusion, and ads appearing after returning to the app, please share details (device, steps, screenshots) with us at support+solitaireassosiations@hitappsgames.com.

Response from developer

Hallo LauraIngles!

Updates destroyed this game

This was my favorite game for a long time but over the last year they over complicated it and added more micro transactions. Such a shame.

too many ads

It could be fun except you can’t even complete one level without being interrupted by ads. That’s aggravating. It would be tolerable if the ads appeared before/after you complete a level. This way, it disrupts game play, and sucks the joy out of it.

Lives system gotta go

I love this game at it's core, but the lives system need to go. Too often are decks unsolvable which makes the loss of lives add up fast. I'd play the game more if it didn't have the lives system.

Annoying pop up ad technique

The game is fun, but it has these ads that without warning just take over the screen and it is so annoying that I’m willing to just stop playing rather than pay to remove that. Yeah right. Many other games that are just as, or more fun and challenging without the constant random pop up ad technique used on this game

Excessive Ads

The game was fun but the ads frequency recently changed. Now there are in-game interruption ads every 5-10 minutes which is disruptive and annoying, to the point where the game is no longer enjoyable.

Ads PLUS random video clips??

I LOVE this game. It honestly is a lot of fun and actually stimulating. In the last few days, aside from the ad breaks in the middle of a level (super annoying, should really put these at the end of levels..) well now I’m getting random video clips from banner ads. Zero context. Not ads, they’re not selling you anything and theres nothing to click on. They are just random 6 second clips of videos but they have been popping up every like 7 clicks on the game. It is driving me insane. I’m about to uninstall this app which genuinely sucks because I do love this game. Shame they ruined it. I get its a free app and the ads pay for it to be free, and you can pay for no ads, but come on. You guys had something unique and awesome, and sold out. Read all the latest reviews. Do better.

Fun game with glaring issues.

It's a fun spin on solitaire. However, let's be realistic here, whether you're matching card suites, or word associations.... it's solitaire. In app purchases?! I will never spend a single cent on solitaire. Timer controlled attempts? Why? Nobody is going to pay for energy to play another round of solitaire. You want to charge for something, charge for content. Charge for new categories, backgrounds, or partner with a known brand like Star Wars or Star Trek and charge for themed content. This is a VERY basic game, I would be shocked if you get many people paying for in game currency to buy attempts. And so anyone is curious, it is like 15 minutes to recharge one attempt, so this is not a time waster game. Each attempt, win or lose burns an attempt. So if you're like most solitaire players, and play to occupy yourself while you are waiting around for something or someone, this isn't the game. So it kind of shoots itself in the foot straight from jump. I will play this occasionally, but I am now searching for a good solitaire game that doesn't require Ad watching or paying to play a game that is a stand in for a deck of cards.

Unplayable, too many ads

The ads for this game are ridiculous. Between every deal there is a long ad, then during play there is an “ad break” where it shows another ad, along with an ad banner at the bottom.

MORE moves & LESS ads.

The game itself is super fun, but the number of moves is VERY limited….like, annoyingly so. Make even 1 or 2 wrong moves & you don’t have enough left to finish the round! That combined with the nonstop ads makes this a no-go for me. They want you to watch a million ads AND buy more more moves because they give you hardly any, so the whole app just feels like a money grab.

Inappropriate ads

We really enjoyed this game, until the second day of playing it, when a very inappropriate ad came on. They should monitor who they allow to advertise and keep it family friendly. Wish we could trust companies to keep this filth out of our lives.

I am sad

I lost all my progress when I updated now I’m level 1 again so boring

Should be better

Fun but too annoying. A “turn” shouldn’t be counted as flipping a card and placing a card! That’s why I have deleted the game. I don’t mind watching ads but to sit through them for 5 more turns that only count as 3 is just wrong. My patience has worn thin. Thanks anyway.

Move

Every time you draw a card you lose a move? Ridiculous

Ads, Ads, Ads

Fun game and if you love constant ad interruptions, this game is for you!
