What's New in SomaFM Radio Player

2.0

September 17, 2026

We've completely updated our app to be fully iOS 26 (and 27) optimized, while remaining compatible on iOS 18. This involved a major rewrite of the app to modern iOS development standards. We've updated the stream playing engine to be more resilient, user interface to be more responsive to screen sizes. Requires iOS 18.6 or later.

Updated, now WTH?

Took the update; now, when I put the player to the background the stream stops.

I have had this app installed over multiple phones and it’s NEVER done this before.

How the bloody !%#@?! am I supposed to fix it?

Musik absolut super

Recent new version shows display bug under iOS 18: start/stop-button looks „crippled“ but it’s working. Under iOS 27 everything looks fine!

Apart from that: Very good music selection! Some stream-variations (bandwidth/format) are only available on their website. Excellent support!

New iOS Version Looks Great, Sounds Great!

The new version is a modern rewrite that works great on iOS 26. The UI feels more seamless and responsive. The playback experience has stayed great as well. For over 20 years, I’m still jamming to Groove Salad and all the other channels. Keep up the good work!
