No privacy practices and no choice but to open everything to the app
No privacy practices and no choice but to open everything to the app. If I just want to slow down music I must open ALL my files, pictures, videos, songs, and I presume anything to this app and it’s owners.
Doesn’t work
It hasn’t been updated for 6 years. Are the developers still alive?
Orientation can’t be changed.
When the player starts, it opens in portrait mode, cutting off half the player. Can’t change it rendering it unusable.
Waste of Time
What’s the point of this app when you can’t load your files in to it, I don’t use Apple Music cause it’s Crappy so why have this possibly useful app it’s like giving me a body without arms and legs.
The app only opens files from the music library
See above. If your music isn’t stored in the library, you can’t open it. This makes it useless for me and most other people.
Can’t load in music files
It looks simple enough to load in music files as it takes you to the Apple Music on my iPhone. You select a song but then a message comes up saying it cannot find a URL. All my songs were legally download from Apple so I don’t understand what the problem is.
The concept sounded brilliant in principle but because it didn’t work I deleted the app. If it had worked and I found it useful I would have looked into buying the MacBook version but I have lost confidence.

A waste. Shouldn’t have given it access to my library. Delete
I just kept getting messages that this piece of junk couldn’t find the url for the song. Why does it need a url for a song in my library which I gave it access to?
Delete - delete - delete
Delete - delete - delete
Good while it lasted
Simple and did exactly what I wanted it to - change pitch and speed independently. For several weeks now it crashes during launch so it’s unusable. Bummer.
Poor app
I just downloaded it, opened it up, registered, opened again, chose a song from Apple on my computer, ....nothing...white screen of death. Frozen completely. All other iPad programs working fine. Disappointed.
Just doesn’t work
Trying to use with Apple Music and iTunes Match and for some reason only 1 album will load. Nothing else will.
No good with any iPads
Save the time and effort move on , there’s a reason no one has commented in 2 yrs it’s bunk , garbage , can’t put any music into it , not compatible wit iTunes or any other format modern humans use .
Garbage on iPad
Don’t waste your time. It simply doesn’t work, won’t load songs, screws with the orientation of the screen.
Only wants to look at your Apple Music Library on your device.

Stopped working after 3 months?
This is a great app that I was using regularly, but has now come to a complete halt. I’ve used it within the last week, but the audio has suddenly stopped working. I thought it was an iPad glitch, so deleted the app and downloaded it again- but there’s still no audio output. Please fix the issue; it’s a brilliant app when it does work!

Poor
Looks great but without sound its useless
Great app but!!!
It might just be my phone but when I change the tempo down it doesn't lengthen out the song. This makes it finish early and doesn't play the rest of the piece. Hope you can fix it. Great app nether the less.
Worthless
Deleted.....pure junk
Needs fixing
Lets you select a song and plays but there’s noooo sound. I’ve tried everything
Great potential
If they fix a few bugs it would be great. App just stops mid way through songs making it frustrating to use. Also every time you use it you have to reload song which also seems sub optimal. Program should resume from last session. Also frustrating.
Does not recognize the position of the iPan
I am using an iPan with a keyboard in "landscape" mode. When Song Surgeon Trainer opens, the first screen displays in portrait mode. In other words, if you are using the iPad keyboard, the app appears like is on it's side.
Futhermore, on the next application screen, the app appears upside down if you are using the iPad with a keyboard.
I suggest that the developers of this app recode it so that the app is responsive to the position of the iPad.

Excellent functionality but...
A previous reviewer mentioned something about only one channel. I can't attest to that. What I have seen so far is an excellent interface, the ability to change pace and pitch, and create a loop to practice a section of a song. The functions are straight forward and easy to manage.
All this for free is fantastic, however, I would like the ability to save the loops I've created. As it stands, I have to keep the current song in the app, otherwise, I lose my loop and have to find the song again if I exit to the main page.
Other than that one gripe, this is a fantastic program.
