Life saver for traveling overseas
Arrived overseas and turned on my iPhone only to discover roaming wasn’t working. Connected to the airport WiFi and used SMC to call my carrier and they quickly fixed the problem!

App is crashing on launch under iOS 18.2.1 on iPhone 13 pro
I just noticed that the Sonic Mobile Communicator app is crashing on launch under iOS 18.2.1 on iPhone 13 pro.
Crashes with limited access to contacts
The app crashes immediately after giving it limited access to selected contacts. Even when it has unlimited access to contacts, it ignores notification settings and makes plays the ring sound when I have disabled sound notifications. This app is so buggy, and updates don’t fix the bugs or add significant features.

Crashed on opening
The app used to work, but no longer does so. Crashes immediately on opening.

This app has become useless - it crashes immediately on opening. It used to work, but now it does not. Tried reinstalling, and also tried another iPhone but still the same crashing issues.
Mom is still able to call
Mom is 94 and lives in Europe. She hasn't quite caught on to those newfangled cell phones, so she uses the old landline number when she calls. Sonic Mobile Communicator allows me to receive those calls, no matter where I am in the world.
The Communicator app works so well that I have literally cut the old telephone line to the power pole outside the house. The old landline phones have been recycled.
Sonic is amazing in every way. Lucky to live in an area that they cover!

Turn off incoming calls?
Sonic is awesome. I love the option of being able to call out with my business number from my personal cellphone. But I really really wish I could turn off incoming calls! Pretty please with sugar on top?

Do not use a cell phone. This app enables me to with Wi-Fi call out and receive calls conveniently. So far it’s functionality seems quite good. It however does not enable SMS texting, so I am restricted to iOS users for that functionality, a separate app of course. I am a big fan of Sonic because they are straightforward and very responsive with customer support.

The app is buggy. Often times when I am trying to delete voicemail I get kicked out of the app.
Confusing to set up, but it works
First thing: you don’t use your Sonic login with this app. Instead, go to the CommPortal on the Sonic.net website, tap “view account settings” and set up a special new password for this app there.
After that, you get voicemail, etc. Quite nice actually!
Only gripe is that calls made to your Sonic phone also ring your iPhone and there’s no way to turn that off, short of signing out or deleting the app.

Can’t login using confirmed email and password. Useless
Power drain
Installed a few days ago and it looks like this is sucking an extra 20% of battery a day...even when force quit and never opened all day ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
No voicemail otherwise ok
There is no way to listen to voicemail. This makes it barely useful.

This is great to use when I need to call a client from my smart phone but I want the caller ID to be my work number.
