App was OK until the last couple of TV for more updates
When I first got my Bravia 7, this app seem to work OK. You can use it as a remote and it connected consistently.
I don't know if it is an app issue or a TV issue, but after the last two Bravia TV firmware update updates, this app no longer connects more than once
I have to make the app forget the TV, then I am usually able to reconnect and it will work. But if I close the app and open it again, it says that it can't find the TV.
So the app is essentially useless unless you want to pair it every single time you use it.
Edit: as of August 1, 2026, the app never finds my TV anymore so I can't use it at all. TV is on and working fine otherwise, but the app never sees the TV anymore.

Highly disappointed
I am a fan of Sony products. But the app will not communicate with my theater. Sound bar seven. Been trying for hours to get this thing to work.
Sony App
The Sony APP is one of the most difficult to use. It asks for verification via a code sent to your email which requires you to close the signin app. When you you return to the app it requires you to start over. It would make a lot less difficult if the app would text to you a code which IPhone iOS would automatically recognize and fill. The instructions for HDMI hookup is also very poor. Come on Sony for a premiere product you could do better.

A no glitch app
Best remote without a glitch for Sony TV and sound system
It works but…
It functionally works, but it’s not intuitive. I typically only either want to adjust brightness or turn on night mode since the rest I haven’t touched since setup. Adjusting brightness/picture mode is not as simple as it should be. I never really use other remote functionality that they offer.
Unresponsive Apps
When in the homepage & one attempts to login to the preview Apps (YouTube, etc.) they almost always are unresponsive. The Apps don’t open.

初期設定は上手くいったが、久しぶりにアプリを起動するとログアウトされていた。
再度ログインするも今度はサウンドバーとの接続がうまくいかず再度初期設定から…
ただBluetooth接続で音楽を聴きたいだけなのにわざわざ完成度の低いカスアプリを開かないといけないし、そのアプリも接続不安定で使い物にならない。
リモコンで操作ができるようにすればよかっただけなのに開発者の自己満アプリを必ず使わないといけないストレスに耐えかねてBoseに乗り換えました。

Not easy to use
Trying to connect rear surround sound speakers and their system just doesn’t let me in and when I go online, it’s very confusing guidance bottom line is unless you’re techie. It’s an issue.

Horrific connectivity
When it works, it works fine. Is it better than replacing my remote? Not really. Once the app wants to reconnect with refreshed credentials, hold your breath. Seldom works unless I restart it from scratch. Secondly, authentication is terrible. They want passkeys, which is fine. But they want you to scan a QR code - with another phone? 2MFA with email doesn’t work and sends you into a loop of QR codes. Terrible workflow.

Sony Quad User: App loses connection
Yes, I’m on the same WiFi, yes Bluetooth and permissions are on, yes I did the setup through the app, my phone is up-to-date — but regardless of troubleshooting, the app will eventually say it can’t connect to the Sony Quad speakers. This seems to be a common issue with Sony’s speakers and it’s frustrating to see it unaddressed. The speakers work fine with my setup, turn on automatically with my TV, and so on. The app, however requires a full speaker reboot to work. So I don’t use it. Fix, or it’s useless to me.

System updated lock you out of previous updates.
The most recent update said that I can’t revert back to previous versions of the system. Why is it so important to Sony that they push a system update that won’t allow you to revert back to a previous version?
First week of use
First impression is pretty good, setup was smooth using the app, the functions or toggles could do with little more explanations, the sound settings could be better highlighted and easier to access
