Top reviews

This app is pretty good!

It could connect to my Sony handycam easily but I don’t know how to transfer videos of photos yet

Works great for me

Never write reviews, but the app worked perfectly fine for me. I have the Sony Alpha 6000 and I was able to connect it and upload my photos relatively quick. While it was a bit confusing at first I just looked through the instructions on the app and the photos got sent to my phone within a minute.

Horrible

I have a Sony EV Z10 and the app never connects. I always have to use a computer. I’ve tried connecting multiple times and I always receive the same message, “Connection failed.”

Poor

Surprisingly clunky. Such a contrast to the £3.5K Sony camera which I use this app with. I don’t understand how Sony could’ve produced such a poor application. They dropped the ball on this one. Please develop and release a better version of this. It’s not really gonna cost so much is it, to produce something good that doesn’t drop connection if it’s having a bad day.

Poor image transfer quality

Downloaded to transfer photos to another device since I couldn’t find my SD card reader. Unfortunately, even after selecting original file size, the transferred files were JPEGs (not RAWs, as I shoot) with file sizes under 1mb each - completely useless for importing into an editing programme. Disappointing that this is an advertised feature that does not at all work well.

If you thought Fujifilm's app was bad...

You ain't seen nothing until you try this steaming pile of garbage

Terribly useless app

The app makes it impossible to sign in from the same device: the sign in page disappears when you switch apps to check your email for the verification code. Which necessitates attempting to sign in again. Which will require a new code. Wash, rinse, repeat. I guess I’ll try it later when I have access to a second device.
Once signed it, it demands full access to your photos library. Can’t connect via Bluetooth and the WiFi connection seems useless outside of something doing with my photos library.

Not a very helpful app

Terrible user interface and the instructions are not helpful for connecting to phone.

You neeeddddddd several updates

😡

I wish it worked better

It is so unreliable as to be tedious

App errors

The app now gives errors whenever trying to export pictures. Not with the frustration and better off just plugging the as card into your computer or phone.

What an Embarrassment to Sony

This is probably the worse app I have ever attempted to use. I can believe that Sony would even make it available. It needs a major overhaul, or just blow it up! Seriously Sony, what the …?

invasive permissions! Buggy anyway!

Why does this app require complete access to the entire 7,341 photos and 359 videos saved to my iPhone to even be able to transfer a single photo from the camera into iPhone's album?? No other app has this much difficulty navigating the privacy-preserving photo album sandboxing implemented on iPhone, one would expect a camera manufacturer to be able to get this right, but the app won't function at all without that blanket permission. This app is really buggy and doesn't work reliably anyway, even if you do blindly hand over the keys to your personal device to Sony. boo bad app that has never been fixed or improved since at least 2018

NEVER CONNECTS

Useless app!! It never connects, like ever!

You can vibe code this better

This app useless. I see people online vibe coded better photo transfer / tether app than Sony with loads of cash. This is mind boggling how bad this app is.

Bad Reviews?

Not sure what the bad reviews are for but it works just as intended. Maybe I haven’t used it enough but it works great!!

Support

The app needs to be over hauled . It’s been the same since 2018 and it works some of the time

Connect is awful

It’s such an unreliable connection. Often it takes 10 tries just to connect and then you’ll be lucky if it stays connected for more than 5 minutes.

Pathetic!

This app is a terrible way to maintain a customer base. Trying to connect my iPhone and my Sony camera gets more frustrating almost every time I try. To make matters worse, the connection often drops during the transfer process and I find that I have to start over. Perhaps I just need to shoot exclusively with my iPhone.

Downloading photo issues

App will not allow me to download images from my camera unless I give it full access to my camera. Had no issue in the past limiting access
