I used to love this app then tried it again but buttons hardly press so hardly working anymore😭

I just downloaded this app love it I have had it for five minutes and already learned things
Update Needed but Unlikely
The app is gorgeous and *in general* functions very well. But the connection to the Foursquare API is dead and given it’s been 5-years since the last update, this is unlikely to be corrected. Worth getting to learn about sushi, but only partially useful to locate local sushi establishments.
Current Location
Love the app, it’s gorgeous, but the Current Location in Restaurants doesn’t work at all. It doesn’t even ask me for permission to use my location, and it doesn’t even show up in system settings.

What a treat for the eyes (even on iPhone 4s). Spectacular example of wonderful programming, gorgeous graphics, silky smooth interface, and useful information all beautifully presented. Slick indeed!
(Even has a built-in Timer to cook your rice! ...Who knows what other surprises still to discover in the app.)
Huge kudos to the Developer showing what can be done with a very tiny app that even still runs on iOS 6!
(One glitch with Restaurant locations. The built-in Map feature - and a gorgeous one at that, super easy to read, even on the 4s - quickly shows all local sushi restaurant locations, but gives an "Failed to Fetch Data Error from FourSquare API" when click on a specific local restaurant in the list. Even with that glitch the App still shows the zoomed map location for that selected restaurant using that wonderful built-in map. Even shows distance in Meters away so very accurate.)

Sooshi
Sooshi is a great application for those unfamiliar with the meal and what it requires in order to get the best results. The app is designed to educate users on the different types of sooshi, the preparation methods to use as well as the closest restaurants that serve the dish. The app also has a nice minimalist design with dark and bright color backgrounds which fit in with one's idea of the places that serve the dish.

Unfortunately seems to not really offer an easy to use method of bringing up locations. Perhaps it’s only useful for those in Japan?
Location error?
I don't know why Google Places is the only location service this app uses, but it seems it is. The restaurant guide opens in Tokyo, and cannot be budged off. I don't know what the issue is, but it makes the guide useless, unless I want something like Google Places. I don't. I don't think I should have to. I don't even know what it is. The content looks beautiful, but I went right for the guide to see what might be there, and well, no go. Not a very communicative app with the rest of the known universe...

Have saved this app on my phone since I got it. Sometimes I'll open it up just to swipe around and look at the animations and UI.

Beautiful app (probably one of the most beautiful I've used on iOS), very informative (love the rice tutorial!)....
Would have given 5 stars, but had problems with the restaurant finder. I live in Hammond, Indiana, and know for a fact that there's a few restaurants that serve and specialize in sushi in the area. The finder shows none. Bummer.

Elegant Design, Beautiful and Handy

Response form the team was quick regarding issues with iOS 9, now it's fully compatible:)

Great App, but crashes with IOS 9 - Please fix!!
Like I said, normally a beautiful 5 star app. However I can't use it as of late because it only seems to crash when I try and interact with the app in any way.. Please fix it and I'll change my rating back to 5 stars!!

This is one of the prettiest apps I've seen in the app store. Great content delivered in a beautiful package. Definitely worth paying for.

A prior app referred to a video, and complained, and I have to wonder if they are thinking of another app, as I cannot even find a video!
Also, the content is plentiful. The graphics are stunning, the way the app is put together is so well thought out.

Kudos to the developer. The app and its UI are just mind blowing. Fantastic example of what is possible on smartphones today; and setting the bar for others to aim for.
Not worth paying for
This app is only slightly informative and doesn't provide anything more than a YouTube video would. The sushi bar finder is nice, but Urban Spoon will give you the same info for free. I was disappointed with the total content and expected more from the app. I was then doubly disgusted when I got a bill for the app over a week later, considering I was under the impression that it was free.
