An excellent app

And it continues to get better. All the shortcuts make interacting with Sonos so much easier. Appreciate the quality of life improvements that are continue to be made.

Apple Watch shortcut

Apple Watch is unable to run shortcut without asking permission each time

Unleashes the Sonos

This app is fantastic! It opens up the versatility of use for your Sonos system. I have 13 speakers and Soro allows me to make creative shortcuts and automations to run favorite playlists, group and ungroup, set volumes individually, and a host of other things with one touch shortcuts. I can even set the timers to more than 4hrs.

The app’s interface itself is not the power of this app for me. It’s just ok really.. It’s the ability to do so much with Apple shortcuts and automating that makes this app wonderful.

Skip this app if you want good lock screen controls!

App has more features than most others & looks nice, But man is the performance bad! I wanted to utilize lock screen & volume controls but they are unreliable. Lots of lag, delays, or no response. Constantly needs to be refreshed to work even slightly which is annoying. I requested a refund with Apple, thats how terrible this is. Good idea but needs work.

Oh dear, what a shambles

Having bought this once, the author wants me to buy it again. But this time, he’s breaking all the automations I set up with it previously. So I’m not really sure what the sales pitch is - pay to lose everything you could already do, and not be able to do it again? When are they going to do this again? Time to get out. Plenty of other Sonos apps that have feature parity and the same reduced functionality as this has been degraded to. Fool me once, etc. I suspect the removal of features and forced resubscription are violations of App Store rules; I guess Apple can sort this out.

A real shame. It was great when I bought it - it really did just provide shortcuts for Sonos. For it to decide that’s not what it does any more and to break existing functionality for no reason is a tragedy.

Excellent

Excellent app for controlling your Sonos speakers. If only Sonos would take some guidance from this app / designers. If they did, maybe Sonos owners wouldn’t be looking for a way out.

Great app

Possible to have a double wide widget?

Finally Lock Screen Control

For a brief period, the Sonos app allowed you to control playback from your Lock Screen… then it went away. This Soro app now bridges the gap and allows you to do just that- plus a lot more. When I’m hosting people, I’m often skipping tracks, adjusting volume up or down, and each time I’d have to open my phone and get into the Sonos app. Not the biggest of first world problems, but when you are trying to be an attentive host, it’s nice to be on your phone as little as possible. A tap to wake it and a tap to skip, then my attention is back on my guests.

Missing Atmos Status Indicator

Literally the only reason to use a Sonos app or 3rd party equivalent is to stream Atmos enabled content. For everything else AirPlay is better - including volume buttons that actually control the volume. But this app doesn’t say what tracks are available in Atmos, nor does it tell you when Atmos is being streamed. So I’ve no idea why to use the product.

Doesn’t enable Add to Apple Favorites or Playlists

The app description states that you can add the currently playing track to Apple Music Favorites via Shortcuts. Unfortunately this doesn’t work (no supported way to use the currently playing track using Apple Music track URL to favorite or add to playlist. Requesting Refund.

Winning

This is a great app to use with Siri Shortcuts and widgets. User friendly and has a full list of highly customizable actions within Siri Shortcuts. I'd advise using Chatgpt to guide you on setting up some of the more unique customizations.

App redesign poor interface

What I liked about Soro was that it WAS one iPad screen, full sized, to manage the volume of all my different Sonos devices, so easy.
However, now with the redesign instead of using the full screen, it uses about 1/6 of it, and I have to scroll to see all my speakers and inadvertently tap on something that I didn’t mean to change.
I don’t see any settings to adjust either…
Going back to the Sonos app 🤨

Thought this might solve some issues

I downloaded this and had to pay for it I can see why there is no trial. It does fit on my screen of an iPhone 16 it goes outside and on a Sonos beam it went to TV mode and I couldn’t find a function to swap it back to my Spotify. The idea was good but being stuck in tv mode is a killer.

Great for Sonos

This is truly an awesome utility that allows many Sonos automations and helps to compensate for the deficiencies in Sonos’ own app. Highly recommended.

Thank You

This app is the best thing that has happened to me since I got into the Sonos Ecosystem. The live activity feature is what we’ve been asking for for years now & finally Soro has delivered.

Why?

Why these changese. Where is the Timer ? Where is the Logic? Why ? Why ?

Works flawlessly

I have been using it mostly for the shortcuts actions and it has been working flawlessly. It is simple to use, snappy and a joy to use.

Clean but still limited by Sonos itself

I don't want to take my frustration with Sonos/apple/spotify out on Soro. Soro does thes best it can with what Sonos gives it. I got too excited by some online reviews for Soro and was hoping for more but ended up spending $8 for an EQ shortcut.

Hoping to someday have a button that just plays my current Spotify session on a group of speakers.
