Hi there, we're glad you like the app, but we understand the pricing is a concern. Did you know we offer a free version as well as 14-day trials for our paid plans? Please reach out to us at support@sortlyapp.com and mention this review so we can guide you toward the best option for your budget

Buggy

I’m sorry I got on it. These are the biggest issues: It either doesn’t save or looses data. It freezes the entire iPad. Add a note, then a price before saving. I dare you. The camera assumes you’re using iPhone.

Sync

Every time I take items off it does not update so we keep thinking we got more items than we have. Desktop updates straight away app does not

Sortly

I just don’t like it

Nice app

We’re so glad to hear you're finding Sortly so useful! Thanks for taking the time to share the love. If there’s ever anything we can do to make your experience even better, feel free to reach out at support@sortlyapp.com.

Super expensive

Extremely overpriced with almost nothing to justify the cost. The free tier feels useless and core features are missing or locked behind expensive plans. Not worth the money — 0 real value for what you pay.

Response from developer

Hi Nick - thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. We’re sorry to hear Sortly didn’t feel like the right fit for you. Our Free plan is meant as a starting point, and our paid plans unlock more advanced features for growing inventory needs. If you’d like, we’d be happy to help you explore what’s available or answer any questions at support@sortlyapp.com.

Perfect but expensive

This is probably the only app where you can browse locations, sub locations and items in the same place (because some boxes contains other boxes that contain items) and it’s so useful, but subscription is way too expensive. You should create a mid advanced plan for private users who wants to do inventory of their garages or attic items and nothing else, willing to spend max £ 5 a month

Thanks for sharing your feedback — we really appreciate you taking the time to write this. We’ll be sure to pass your thoughts about pricing and a potential mid-tier personal plan along to our leadership team. In the meantime, we do offer annual plans at 20% off, with 50% off your first year, and we also have a Free plan that may fit your needs depending on how you’re using Sortly. If you’d like to talk through any of those options, feel free to reach out to support@sortlyapp.com and reference this review. We’re always happy to help!

Fantastic app

Fantastic app

This has to stop

$450 for a yearly advanced plan? That's nuts. $45 isn't ideal for a basic plan. By the way, I got emails every day from Sortly until I yelled at them and they deleted my account

Love it

This app is just great for keeping track of where you keep things. I like the fact that you can add photos and notes and create your own locations and sub locations.

Response from developer

Thank you for the kind review! We’re so glad Sortly is helping you keep track of where everything lives. Being able to add photos and notes, and set up custom locations and sub-locations, is exactly what we hoped would make organizing feel simple and flexible. If there’s ever anything we can do to help you get even more out of the app—like tips for faster adding, using tags, or running reports—just let us know. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

Not Recommend

For something to track inventory and nothing else, paying for subscription that jumps to over $1,000 is crazy. I’d rather redo my whole inventory (almost 2,000 items) than signup for their service again after using this app for almost two years!

Absolute best system for organization and inventory

I have gone through pretty much every single app and service out there and sortly has always done everything that I needed to in terms of organizing things I have for sale to personal collections to household inventory. I love their QR feature. It works excellent. I use it to sort all my shelves. I want to say a big thank you to the developer for staying loyal to customers who signed up for lifetime subscriptions. I have like I said, signed up for so many others that either went away or changed their app so they didn’t have to continue offering service to their legacy customers.

900% price increase in two years! AVOID!

Like many other reviewers, I started with a low cost of about $600. Now, two years later, they’re asking for nearly $6,000, that’s a 900% increase! They are unhelpful and don’t seem to care. They are hard to work with, and I regret my choice. Now I have to redo two years of work with another company. We are already working to create an alternative system with other frustrated clients like us so we don't get caught up again like this. Any more info please feel free to contact me.

Hi Daniel – we’re really sorry to hear how this has landed for you. After spending two years building out your system in Sortly, we can understand how upsetting this change must feel. Over the last couple of years, we’ve made some big updates to the platform—expanded features, added security enhancements, and improved performance for larger inventories and teams. But we also recognize that those improvements don’t always align with what every customer needs, especially when it comes to cost. We truly regret that this left you feeling like your only option was to walk away. If you ever decide to revisit the conversation, even just to share more about your experience, we’d be glad to listen. You can reach us any time at support@sortlyapp.com—just mention this review and we’ll make sure it gets to the right person. Thanks again for the time you spent with Sortly. Wishing you all the best with your next system.

Bait and switch

Despite a tremendous investment of time to get this software dialed in for my needs, I was satisfied with the overall capabilities. Three years into the subscription they sent an email notification that the annual rate would increase by over 300% in 30 days (from $468 to $1428). Needless to say the subscription has been cancelled and I am looking for another solution.

Unethical Price Hike After Years of Loyalty. Overnight, Sortly More Than Doubled My Subscription $

I’ve been a Sortly customer for 5–6 years, paying $1,180 a year for their Ultra plan. Last year, without my permission, they increased my payment and moved me to a higher rate. After multiple emails, they admitted the mistake, apologized, and moved me back.

Now, I’ve received a 30-day notice that my plan will jump to about $2,800 a year — more than double overnight — with no real choice other than cutting off many of my items to qualify for a cheaper tier, or paying the inflated price. When I went to cancel by subscription, I was suddenly offered 40% off. This just confirms their strategy: wait until customers have built up large inventories (I have about 3,600 items) and then force them into paying drastically higher rates, knowing it will be a big inconvenience to switch.

Thankfully, I already have all my data zipped, exported to PDF, and my IT team is moving me to a new system. I’d rather spend time and money transitioning than give Sortly another penny.

This company is greedy and unethical. They care more about squeezing customers than offering fair value. I barely used most of their features, just inventory tracking and adding a few items a month lately. I don’t recommend Sortly to anyone — and I wouldn’t be surprised if more negative reviews keep rolling in.

Response from developer

We’re truly sorry to hear you feel this way, especially after being with Sortly for so many years. We understand your frustration, and we appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed feedback. To clarify a few points: pricing changes and plan transitions were communicated with 30 days’ notice, in accordance with our Terms of Service, and are part of broader updates we've made to ensure Sortly continues to grow with the businesses that rely on it. That said, we know that not every customer needs every new feature or capacity increase, and we always try to work with each team to find a solution that fits. If you'd be open to revisiting the conversation, we’d really appreciate the opportunity to take another look at your account and explore options. Just reach out to us at support@sortlyapp.com and mention your App Store review, and we’ll be sure to connect you with someone who can help right away.

Excessive Price Hikes

I have been using Sortly for about 5 years. It is not perfect for my business needs and the development team is slow to implement ideas to help improve. Still, they have no problem increasing the price X 4 almost overnight. I received 2 weeks notice that the annual payment of $2K was going to increase X10. Highly unethical and I am looking for a replacement.

Great cost effective app

Great app with handy add ons. As our business grew we chose to expand and did so seamlessly with Sortly.
