About

Measure the sound level around you in real time. Uses your phone's microphone to show ambient noise in decibels. Everything is computed on your device — audio is never recorded and never sent anywhere. FEATURES • dB(A) and dB(Z) weighting — dB(A) is the standard curve used by noise regulations • Fast (125 ms) and Slow (1 s) time response • Current, minimum, maximum, peak and Leq (equivalent continuous level) • Live chart of the last 60 seconds • 12-band frequency display • Save your measurements and compare them later • Plain-language classification, from a whisper to a power drill • Shows the NIOSH reference exposure time above 85 dB • Turkish, English, German and Spanish • VoiceOver support and Dynamic Type HOW IT WORKS Microphone input is processed in real time, the A-weighting curve from IEC 61672 is applied, and the result is shown in decibels. The time weighting constants come from the same standard. ABOUT ACCURACY Readings use a fixed reference tuned for the iPhone microphone and may deviate by a few dB depending on the device model. The iPhone microphone saturates above roughly 120 dB. This app is not a certified sound level meter and must not be used for legal, occupational or medical purposes. PRIVACY Audio is never recorded and never leaves the device. Saved measurements stay on your phone only. No account required. The app is free and supported by ads.
