User reviews

Not accurate

This meter consistently reads 30 decibels higher and should not be considered accurate.

Response from developer

We're sorry you had a disappointing experience with SoundMeter X. Our SPL meters have been praised for their accuracy. However, accurate measurements require accurate sensitivity calibration. The type of measurement microphone you use will have a significant impact on the method and the potential accuracy of the calibration. Please reach out to us if you have specific questions regarding microphone calibration in SoundMeter X.

Disable my app

I’m into audio and spent a lot of money for a way to set up and measure sound. A little while ago this software was disabled and replaced by a new version that now requires a rental fee to operate. Sorry but I feel ripped off. Why should I now have to pay for the use of the system I bought and was then disabled by the excuse of no update to pay more. Shame on you.

Excellent

Lots of add ons can be purchased for more specialised measurements. This standalone app is excellent at what it does, (measure sound level). It has excellent accuracy given that this is a mobile app. It’s not far off a measurement taken with a professional unit. I don’t get the previous review that rates this app as fake???? Could it be that a little knowledge of sound acoustics might help?
