I put the gone to the floor to see if it would "detect" a hb but it keept saying 0 so i used it on my self and got a good reading

I tested this APP and (just noticed Warren A's comment/review afterward) that you must place the microphone (IT'S ON THE BOTTOM OF THE iPHONE ... DOH) against your chest.
I bet if you do that, it WILL work. I did it just using common sense and then had my wife (and she's an experienced Cardiologist) check my pulse in blind tests.
Each time we were either EXACT Or the deviation was one beat off per minute!!
That's incredible! So - if you made the mistake of laying the iPhone down? Of course it will not work!! I also found just laying one firm fingertip on the top to be the best pressure level for me.
Good luck to those who DON'T read the directions carefully. (even though that's kind of a scary lack of logical thought those of you lay-downer's used).

Pathetic - does not work!
Despite trying about 20 times I was unable to get a reading (yes I know where the microphone is). It seems to animate the heart in time with my beat, but every time it comes back zero. You're better off just taking your pulse ( and it's more accurate).
