The app uses the microphone on your device (phone/tablet) to listen to the music and create the effects, which allows it to work with all audio sources. For more advanced features, you can turn on Detect Frequencies on the Settings screen under Music Visualizer. For each frequency range (Bass, Mid, Treble), you can change the FX Targets, Transition FX, and Theme. Create your own themes on the Themes tab. The app sends commands to your lights in order to create the effects. Your phone will need to be on but you can put the app in the background. Please contact me at support@soundstorm.scottdodson.dev if you have any questions. Thanks!
Real shame
Either through your phone or your echo I have the same problem.
If improvements were made it'd be much better.
Also the settings are a little confusing they need simplifying.

Thank you for the feedback. Please try adjusting the Volume Trigger under Settings to prevent background noise from interfering. After starting the Music Visualizer, and without any music playing, move the slider handle to the right just far enough so that the effects do not trigger.
