Painful experience in line
2 stars because the app itself works. And I suppose the app works like it should but it isn’t integrated with the actual restaurants well. I am not exactly sure what I clicked while launching it at home, but I was looking at a coupon for a free drink and saw a half off meal instead -and it activated a code valid for 2 hours. No explanation, just a big code of 4 numbers to give restaurant. I wasn’t planning on eating there since I’d arrive within an hour of closing but decided I’d make an impromptu trip. I don’t go here too often anymore because the prices are getting higher and they have “food quality” issues about half the time. I saw they had take out recently so I figured I’d try that. No one was behind me in line but as usual it took a good 5 minutes or more as the check out person ran to back to return with someone else. Neither seemed to understand the code. I gave them the card number in app and after multiple tries, my account was found. Usually by this time I ask them to just skip the card altogether- which makes the app useless. I think I’ve only gotten credit for eating here one time. Maybe twice if this last transaction took. I’ll never see a free meal because I think of the LONG process and I go elsewhere. There is a half off meal on my account but it has a disclaimer for eat in only. I have emails for free drinks with something with app too. I didn’t even ask about that. I chose to just pay the total and do my best to get the food and leave the place. It’s ok, but $10 for a Togo salad and 2 cups of soups is a bit high since there are no refills. I think the app works, but when there are people behind you, you won’t want to be that person trying to use it. Overall, this app likely hurts business more than it helps. I don’t have a physical card. One is better off sticking with that.
