What's New in Sous Chef

1.2.0

October 25, 2026

iPhone Duo is here! Sous Chef now supports iPhone Duo. Unfold it and Sous Chef spreads out: your week sits beside what you can cook, so you can drag a recipe straight onto Tuesday's dinner, and your pantry opens with everything at a glance. Also new in 1.2: • Drag to plan: in Cook, drag recipes onto breakfast, lunch or dinner, and drag planned meals to another day. • Recipes and Shopping at a glance: tap a number beside your recipes or list to show just those. • Pantry at a glance: what's in stock and where, how fresh it is, what to use soon, and what you can cook right now. • Sort your pantry by name, what expires first or what you added last. • Smarter barcode scans: the amount, servings, storage spot and category fill themselves in, and a 12-pack comes in as 12 cans. • Cook on the counter: prop your iPhone Duo half open and the steps stand up while ingredients and timers sit on the flat half. • Hold it upright, too: your week or the numbers at a glance sit on the top half and your list on the bottom, so propped like a laptop, what you read stands up and what you tap lies within reach. • Recipe ideas and imports can use Private Cloud Compute for better results, and ideas now follow what you ask for with a different dish each time.
