What's New in Space Arc

1.1.0

September 5, 2026

Knowing an event is happening is only half of it. This update is about the other half: knowing where to look. WHERE DO I LOOK? Open any event and tap the new compass guide. Space Arc reads your heading live and turns the dial with you, so north stays on north and a marker rides the ring at the event's true bearing. Turn until that marker meets the index at the top of the screen and everything locks green. You're facing the right way. Now tilt up to the elevation in the middle of the dial and start watching. It knows the difference between what you're looking for: the bearing an ISS or Starlink pass climbs out of, the radiant of a meteor shower, the ecliptic where the planets sit, the polar horizon where aurora build. Each one comes with its own bearing, elevation, and a plain note on how to actually watch it. TONIGHT MISSION The home screen now opens with a single pick: the best sky moment near you tonight, scored and explained. Cloud cover and darkness both feed the Sky Score, and the read is honest. "Worth stepping outside" means go. "Conditions look rough, but the timing is on your radar" means keep your expectations low and your coat on. REMINDERS YOU CAN TRUST Setting a reminder now tells you it worked. The bell turns green while an alert is live, and you get a straight answer when one can't be set at all: the event already passed, it's too close to schedule anything useful, or notifications are switched off at the system level. No more tapping a bell and wondering. Clear skies.
