Starting Sequence

I always play first. That isn’t the way the game is supposed to be. Also, my partner takes tricks from me. There seems to be no connection with what their partner has bid. When I bid nil my partner wastes spades when I might need them for cover.

Spades and ads

I have been playing this game for a long time andused to enjoy it, but now it has a long ad after each hand. This is new and so annoying I am now deleting this game. Bye......

FAQ

What is Spades - Card Game?

Spades - Card Game is a digital adaptation of the classic trick-taking card game. It allows players to enjoy the game on their mobile devices, offering both partnership and solo gameplay modes. The objective is to bid on and win a certain number of tricks based on the cards dealt.

What are the main features of this Spades app?

The app features partnership and solo game modes, allowing you to play with friends or against AI. It includes the core mechanics of trick-taking, bidding, and scoring, with helpful hints and an easy-to-use interface. The game is designed to fit all phones and tablets with support for all screen sizes.

How is scoring handled in the game?

Scoring is based on the number of tricks bid versus the number of tricks actually taken. If you meet or exceed your bid, you earn points for each bid trick. Failing to meet your bid results in a deduction of points. Taking more tricks than bid earns bonus points, often referred to as 'bags' or 'sandbags'.

Is this game suitable for beginners?

Yes, the app is suitable for all level players. It includes help and hints to guide new players through the game's mechanics. The UI design is also described as awesome and easy, making it approachable for those new to Spades.

What are the different bidding options available?

Players can bid the number of tricks they expect to take. A bid of 'zero' is called 'nil', where a player aims to take no tricks. Common variants like 'blind' bidding (without looking at cards) and 'nil' bidding are supported, offering bonus points for successful execution but penalties for failure.
