About
Stuck on a video idea? Drawing blanks in the meeting? Spark is a digital deck of 221 creative prompts that hand you a constraint and force you off the obvious answer.
Built by Singularity Film — a UK video production agency tired of AI-flavoured sameness — Spark is the digital version of our physical [SINGULARITY] idea deck. Each card names a small creative move: a removal, a flip, a substitution, a deliberate accident. You take the move literally and see where it lands.
— PASS THE PHONE —
Solo, or pass the phone around the room. Pick how many people are playing and Spark deals one card per person. Each player taps to reveal, sits with it, then hands the phone on. No accounts. No logins. No names.
— PLAY THE COMBO —
Pick three cards. Treat the combination as a single brief. NO SOUND + ONE TAKE + BLACK AND WHITE is a different film than any of those alone.
— ONE SESSION A DAY —
You get one go every 24 hours. Deliberate. The cards only work if you give them weight — draw, sit with the prompt, write your answers down. Come back tomorrow with a fresh head.
— WHY IT WORKS —
Lateral thinking is what your brain does when you take away the easy answer. Constraints force the mind to look sideways instead of straight ahead — to connect things that wouldn't normally connect. That sideways search is what produces ideas you've never had before.
The result won't be AI-flavoured. Won't be borrowed from someone else's reel. It'll come from you.
— THE DECK —
221 cards, organised across ten creative moves:
• REMOVE — strip something away (no sound, one take, no people, no edit)
• BAD IDEAS — write the worst version first, list the clichés, name them so you can leave them
• REVERSE — flip the brief, the audience, the perspective
• CONSTRAIN — single location, single shot, single colour
• SUBSTITUTE — swap a key element for what's just outside the frame
• EXAGGERATE — push it past comfortable. Then further.
• ACCIDENT — wrong footage, wrong music, found objects
• REFRAME — narrow the focus, widen the audience, change who it's for
• TIME — late reveal, slow burn, cold open
• PERSPECTIVE — film a familiar subject from an unfamiliar angle
— WHO IT'S FOR —
Marketing teams briefing video. Filmmakers in development. Content leads cutting reels. Founders shooting their own stuff. Agencies in the kickoff meeting where everyone's polite and no one has a real idea yet.
— WHAT IT ISN'T —
Spark won't write your script. It won't generate footage. It won't tell you what to do. It hands you a small, awkward instruction and gets out of the way. The work is still yours.
