I get it u have a lot of tools that use servers so u have too coop you’re cost back but too put a subscription around apples ON DEVICE MODEL a model that is only 3B parameters and is the DUMBEST of on devices models as of this YEAR is actually wild I could get a subscription for cloud llm solutions hosted by you or even web search being subscription based but on device processing is locked?! Really?!

You don’t need a paid subscription to use your own models or the on-device model. The app does not charge for on-device processing, and you can also use cloud models with your own API key without subscribing to our hosted plan. We found and fixed a bug where some users were incorrectly missing the Free subscription tier, which made access look locked. Sorry for the confusion and frustration. This is fixed now. Paid subscriptions are only for features that rely on our hosted infrastructure and server-side costs, not for Apple’s on-device model itself.
