Brilliantly creative

I tripped over this creation by accident, what a beautiful piece of work. Simple to use with seemingly infinite sound generational potential. I like having an on board record facility - simply copy and paste wherever you want without having to open DAWs and the like, recording on a whim is great. I love this.

Cool concept

This app has a very cool concept. However, some things should be improved in an update.
- The default pitch is way to low. The first harmonic sould be 55 hz.
- The lower harmonics are way to dark. All of them should be like last harmonics.
- It would be cool if you could zoom in on certain harmonics since it's hard to be precise.
- may be all these things can already be changed, I don't know. These is no Voice over support.

One of the great developers of this generation

This synth could be used on an Aphex Twin record, and then used happily by kindergarteners for hours. If you need source sound for virtually ANY purpose, snap this sucker right up. Sometimes when I’m “making music,” I come to a point where I’m just aimlessly pressing buttons, turning knobs sifting through sample libraries. If i put SpectrumGen in front of me, suddenly my nothing is given purpose. This developer has impressed the heck out of me and I have most of their apps, have not been let down yet. Thank you!

Wicked!

Its wicked to be able to paint the spectrum of the sound you play! Its sounds crazy as hell and is better for “noisemaking” than “serious” music. I don’t like these terms, but i guess we all know what i mean. The midi function is handy and it would be cool, if we had the opportunity to switch to an in app keyboard, so playing the right notes is easier, if you want it. It would make the app more flexible!
The audiobus and iia function is very helpful! A AUv3 implementation would be mega rad though!

For the price, you cant do nothing wrong!

Wonderful

If only sharing was easier this would be a 5 star.

Funny

Petite appli sympathique!

Spectrum Experiment App

This thing is really FUN to mess with !!!

Be sure to click on the little wrench to right, to try things like turning echo (reverb?) on or off. You can easily hear how different one set of frequencies at arbitrary amplitudes sounds distinct from the sounds produced by another set.

Experiment -- your brain will like it and you'll a lot just intuitively...

A musical toy

Not really of use for complex projects, but good fun to play with. A toy when compared to author's larger app, Virtual ANS.

Very cool spectrum synth!

Amazing little synth for the price. It's positively bursting with sci fi sounds and sonic possibility. The only thing holding back a five star review is the fact that the low frequencies are represented with the color black--on a black background! You can hardly see what you're drawing / manipulating down there. A more neutral background color could easily fox this. It would be really nice to be able to save patches too.

Is app is amazing to play with... I can't believe it's only 99cents!

You should buy it.

Six stars!

I only give five actual stars to apps that are completely ridiculously over-the-top cool… This app is outstanding excellent superb awesome

Fun as hell

Make crazy noise. Scare the neighbors ' kids

Buy it

Excellent app that is worth every penny.

lovely padded experimenting

like all the padi applications before, alexander zolotov delivers something that makes me happy to pay for. for 69p, it is nothing you could complain about.
the sounds are brilliant, the ability to make your own waves is fantastic, and how you play the synth is genius.

ive even made my own folder for alexander zolotovs applications, just incase he keeps making more and more in the future of great quality and fantastic user interaction.

great application, great sounds, and very fast.

5/5

Lädt zum 'Spielen' ein ...

Hallo,

Surprisingly fun

I keep coming back to this app. If you like making funny noises and / or want a cheap source of custom spacey sound fx, this is right up your alley.

Pas très varié

Application qui avait l'air intéressante visuellement mais qui en définitive est très limitée dans la diversité de production de sons. Sans grand intérêt.

Experiment with spectral timbre generation

This program gives you a simple, monophonic spectral synth. You can change the spectrum as you play, and multitouch will alternate between your fingers' parameters. Recording the sound will paste it on the Clipboard, where it can be picked up by a number of programs. Its controls are exactly the same as PixelWave's, the main difference being that you are drawing the spectrum instead of the waveform. So: it's pretty simple. Suggestions for the next release: the low frequency end of the spectrum - which is much more important for building up a fundamental in the timbre - should NOT be colored black - it's nearly impossible to see. Some people may want to save out the spectrum and setup as patches - I realize it's difficult in iOS without good document manipulation support. Similarly, some may want to play the wave via MIDI. So, there's room for a more complicated version of this program.
