About
Speed Evolution is a pocket museum of railway speed. Instead of a plain catalogue, it lays the history along one large speed scale, so you can watch people learn, step by step, how to make faster.
Swipe through the Evolution timeline and rides the speed curve with you. It starts as an early steam locomotive and becomes a Shinkansen, a TGV and finally a maglev, while the museum around it changes from warm brass to cool violet steel.
The collection holds 45 exhibits: early steam locomotives such as Rocket and Mallard, the first electric and diesel streamliners, the Shinkansen, TGV, ICE, AVE, KTX and Fuxing families, the great record runs, and magnetic levitation shown as a separate branch of the story.
Speeds you can trust
Service speed, maximum operating speed, design speed, test speed and record speed are stored separately and never mixed. Every number says which kind it is. Where a reliable figure is not known, the museum leaves it blank instead of guessing, and claimed records are marked as unverified.
