The game is fun, since you have to spell the word once you see it and hear it. You’re given a time limit of course but it gets harder as you progress through the game.
Not as simple as you think
At first I thought this game was going to be too easy and be boring just spelling words that you were already shown! But surprisingly as the time goes on the words can be more difficult and when you add in the factor of trying to speed up to get more points it actually becomes kind of addictive!
UNfriendly for Sensory and Deaf folks
I have severe sound sensitivity and have to turn the music and sfx off on games. But this one adds a whole other level of challenge if you can’t hear the target words spoken aloud.
The game is to pick the correct letters for a word from a jumble of letters. It shows most of the word’s letters in text for a moment, but if you don’t have sound on to hear the word spoken aloud, you have to guess at choosing the right missing letter. That would actually be a more fun as the game is a tad dull, but not fair if only sound-impaired people have that extra challenge but not their opponent.
If I could turn off the sfx and only have the sound of the word spoken that would work great for me (but not for Deaf people). But the sound controls for the word are tied with beeping and grating and popping sound effects that cause me bad sensory overload. (The controls are labeled as though the sfx is combined with the music on/off button instead of with the voice but in reality I couldn’t find a way for the word to be spoken without also having sound effects.)
There is also no pause button, which means if something important comes up in real life you are forced to abort the game even if it’s a short interruption.
Additionally there is a glitch where if you open the settings from the play screen, it’s really difficult to get out of that screen. Then when you try to play a game, as the round starts the settings pop back up and I can’t ever get it to close again. So every time I look at the settings I have to force-close the app and re-launch before I can play.
